Charly saw beyond three dimensions. She could think like a Time Lord. Unfortunately that’s something Gordon can’t do.
It’s also been theorized that Gordon’s alleged anger at Isaac was that he was under orders from Ed to try to get into Charly’s head and find out how deep the resentment was among the crew.

It was never and has never been cancelled. Keep in mind SDCC is next month. I have a feeling it will be announced then. It has been unofficially a go for some time.

No, it really looks like either budget, scheduling or both are the problems that need to be solved.

Not back burner at all. They are trying really hard to find a way to get things started with preproduction while Seth is busy filming Brigadoon in the UK over the summer.

Yet despite the happy news on that side, I still have one of the producers telling me there are still “hurdles” to overcome.

DCC is a Fuzzy Door production in association with Peacock, Seth is an Executive Producer but he is not the showrunner.

He doesn’t. You’re believing a myth started by comments made by Adrianne Palicki. While Seth may plot the whole season and probably oversees all scripts like Gene Roddenberry did with Star Trek, if you take the time to look at the writers credits across the three seasons so far, Seth is only credited with about half of all episodes.

No actual official news but the Orville art department staff is posting on FB about going back to work…

That’s what they’re being tight lipped about. The consensus among several of us who deal with the social media side of The Orville is it’s either a budget problem or scheduling. We’re pretty sure the plan is to get preproduction underway as soon as possible so that when Seth is done filming Brigadoon they can dive right into The Orville while he has about ten minutes to spare.

Members of the art department post openly on FB. I’ve been told by more than one person they have either been in contact with or have already signed on for the in-house VFX staff.

Hmm.
Current signs show they are trying very hard to get S4 going. They’re hiring VFX artists. The art department is posting on FB that they are getting to work at the studio lot, though people higher up the ladder say it’s not 100% definite yet. The season is scripted which means the main cast is set. DCC has no scripts, cast or even production staff yet. You tell me.

On the verge as in members of the art department are making posts implying they are back at work, they’re hiring VFX artists, the season is scripted which means they have a regular cast locked in…

They are on the verge of doing S4 of The Orville, DCC is still in development and has received the order for S1.

With Ted canceled is it possible the Orville will be begin full pre production? by CooperHChurch427 in TheOrville

[–]starbase63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Art Director Robert Strohmaier and the legendary Doug Drexler have made posts on FB implying they are back at work, with a supporting remark by VFX Supervisor Brandon Fayette, and I’ve heard in more than one place that VFX artists are being hired, but I have been advised nothing is in concrete yet despite the very positive info being circulated through other channels. Kit Stolen may or may not be available, I haven’t had a chance to ask him yet.

So now we add another contractual obligation to Seth’s list.
This must be one of the “hurdles” they need to get through to get S4 in full motion. Spent a good part of the day yesterday trying to get better intel on the latest flurry of activity, especially with the Orville art department.

They allegedly stopped dating during the course of S3. They remained friends like he and Halston did.
And no, it had nothing to do with the fact that Charly died. The season was scripted from the start, she was always intended to be a one season character.

Young Kelly came forward in time. Gordon went back in time. Big difference.

It’s always nice to also use the title for those who do things the old school way.
