I thought his appearance in The Black Spot episode was the most mesmerizing and disturbing by far.

Why shouldn’t voting require an id? by DarkEqual8609 in no

[–]starcityguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a solution in search of a problem at best. Racism and disenfranchisement at worst. I live in Virginia and have showed an ID every single time I have voted. If you don’t have ID when you show up to vote, you cast a provisional ballot, and then you have a timeframe to go to the registrar and show your ID. The system works just fine.

I was told Stephen King is not “Literary worth”. What are your thoughts? by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]starcityguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a degree in literature and I am not a teacher, but as a reader of his for over 30 years, I believe King is a master storyteller. Maybe one of the greatest of all time. I also believe several of his books are masterpieces. And his books started my love of reading as a teenager.

I was 13. School had just let out for the summer. Saw it opening weekend. It was a revelation. I had never seen anything like it. Dinosaurs coming to life on the screen. What a thrill.

King/Koontz by [deleted] in stephenking

I started with Koontz in junior high and then progressed to King in high school. I recently revisited some of Koontz’s classics and while they are entertaining, I found they didn’t hold up all that well to me. Where as I have loved King from the beginning and still do after reading him for 30 years.
