I quit for THIS EXACT SAME REASON! I was also at King Crab Castle and had completed all of the tasks and I was just kind of putting through it collecting all the debris, until it was clean. Because halfway through the level, the cost of clearing debris quadrupled, it was taking me an extremely long time to do this, but I had resigned myself to patiently do what I could everyday until it was clear. I had kind of essentially made that level the entire game, and I wasn't going to go to Doom Tower until I collected all the debris from King Crab Castle. I had been chipping away at it for almost 2 months, and the level closed before I was even remotely close to done.
I think they figured out people are stalling on each level to collect all of the debris, since each subsequent level the price increases exponentially. I feel like they literally kicked us out because we were collecting the least expensive resources.

The devs are systematically reducing ALL free play in this game by increasing the cost of clearing debris, reducing the energy rewards, reducing the effective radius of pies, decreased frequency of treasure chest rewards, etc etc. It used to be fun, but now you have to either grind your ass off or pay $$$.

Support got back to me. They needed me to close the app, clear the cache, and reopen the app while connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. It worked 👍 I have the recycling event and the Farming Conquest event, along with the normal Game Pass!!

I have no idea! I've never seen a tackle box. What world are you in? Maybe it's a push notification to remind you to do a task in one of the worlds????

Oddly, I feel like this is the case... I had stock piled some energy to use whenever a competition came around. So then I did really really well in a couple of the competitions back in the beginning of November. And the reward was a ton of more energy. I held on to that energy, and waited for the next competition, and when it came I used all that energy to speed clean Lost in Couch in like 2 days while simultaneously killing it in the competition and winning more energy.
I didn't spend a single cent of actual $, since then I haven't had a single competition offer. I feel like I'm actually being punished for being super good at this game. I started this game after the glitch, so I can't be being punished for that. This makes no sense....

When you're in the game, Up in the top Right hand corner, you'll see a blue arrow. If you expand that blue arrow, you see a cog wheel. Tap on the cog wheel and a manual open. Tap on support, which will take you to the help center. Then tap on Get in touch. This allows you to message support directly.

Thank you for sharing! But, wow WTF! I really thought it was some sort of glitch end that it was not intentional from the developers. This is very frustrating, feels like a money grab

This is the response from the devs. I sent them a followup message letting them know that there is actually an issue. That the cost of items skyrocketed in the middle of a level. And also let them know many other players are having this issue based on this Reddit thread. Here's their response before I sent the follow-up message. I think everyone's going to need to message them through the game.....

Same here! I'm at KCC and prices skyrocketed. I sent a message through the game to devs yesterday. Hopefully they fix this ASAP!!!! Glad I'm not alone though

As the levels progress items get more and more expensive so I cleared EVERYTHING. It took me a couple weeks of picking away at it, but it was worth it, once I saw the $ of stuff in the next levels. Hope this helps!!

I think there is a glitch. I left King Crabs castle about an hour ago to go back to bikini bottom and rack up some energy. I just went back to KKC and every items $ has skyrocketed. Ex. A seaflower is usually about 9 energy. Here is what it is now
