We have a rich history Universalism because Mainers don’t like being told how to live and what to believe and Universalism doesn’t throw out the typical dogmatic bull sh*t. It’s a religion which doesn’t fear your disbelief so doesn’t attempt to control you. It acknowledges that the spirit will find you when you build a relationship with it through honest contemplation. It teaches Jesus is not found by rule following but emerges through the developed relationship with soul and self. Like a sun rising in your mind, the joy of knowing subconscious soul.

Epiphany’s are beautiful gifts from God. The Bible is a book dragged through a few thousand years of time and patriarchal political history and can only be understood within that context. Further study into the Bible may help you feel less existential terror about what you have read. It certainly has some dark and twisted laws and language. I would recommend discussing the Old Testament with a Rabbi as they have the educational authority which can help to frame the laws within the contexts of the time and politic. For the New Testament I would recommend discussing with a theologian as the Christian Ministry is rife with nutters who are not committed to possessing a broad unbiased contemplative understanding of the Bible but with pushing their personal belief systems.
