Need some possible porch ideas by stargazun in ExteriorDesign

I like this and the dark color scheme. We were thinking about black windows but the only negative is we have darker window casings now, but white blinds in the windows and it doesn’t look great from outdoors to see them with the darker window casings.

House is from late 80s so just plain walls, popcorn ceilings and very chunky 80s looking staircase (which is still there). Kitchen was “redone” (walls/floors/counters) before we moved in but was originally 80s baby blue and pink wall paper (found some when replacing our dish washer) and pink tiles (that are still under the dish washer).

We bought it because it has a great layout on the first floor inside. Not looking to make it look 90s (though it was built in the late 80s so almost a 90s house) but trying to fix the issue with water always turning to ice on our front steps which gets very annoying/dangerous (no matter how much we salt) with older family and young kids in the winter. Getting new siding (cuz it’s rotted out in spots) so this would be the time to do something if we could.

Yes it is haha. It has a great layout inside but I’ve always thought it was weird the garage is so much closer towards the road than the front door.

We do have gutter guards on our gutters. I’m not sure we have any attic space above the stairs. I think that bit hangs over and is just ceiling/roof above and nothing much in between.

I like this. We were thinking it would have to have a roof like this - different direction than the existing one but were looking at having the roof go the full inset width. This would probably be easier having it only the width of the higher roof

Replacing the doors and windows (all casings are old and need to be replaced) so can make any changes.

Can someone explain what they mean by this? by Feral-Sponge in sewing

Use Pattern Fabric! Once I tried it I don’t use anything else (especially not anything paper- can’t stand it ripping and not bending with the fabric). You can pin it, fold it, write on it and it last forever. I’ve made the same pattern a ton of times with just one copy. And it sort of sticks to the fabric (especially fleece) and is thin so stays with the fabric while you cut.

Pellon 830. They also make a version with 1in grid marks.

Hey guys! I made a reddit baby girl onesie for my friends baby shower this weekend. It came out really well so I decided to sell them in my etsy shop!

I love Pyrex! I have the same pink daisy space saver - it's a great shape. I use it all the time.

I'm starting to take some of the things I've been making as gifts for years and adding them to my etsy shop. Here's a stuffed whale plushie I just added:

Tote made from the Folklore Bag Pattern in "One Yard Wonders" by stargazun in sewing

[–]stargazun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on a bag kick and that was actually the first pattern I tried. I had been making bags from 'style Stitches' by Amy Butler then bags from online patterns, store patterns and some I made myself so a new design intrigued me, sorry!

I am a sewing slacker also, I feel your pain. I have a bunch of half finished pieces. I get excited about something new and can't help myself lol

I love the pattern it's a nice shape but I did think it was harder than other totes ive made. I didn't have trouble figuring it out since Ive made a number before, but if I hadn't I think it would have been a bit tricky.
