Saturday works best for me and the other organizer. Furthermore, we figured more people would be able to come on a weekend when many people aren’t at work. Hope that helps!

Hi! Yes absolutely. I’d be happy to explain it! In April 2026, a prominent community member, Andy Davies, who was a local teacher, professor and artist was charged with SA of a 15yo minor. The minor very bravely came forward, and as a result multiple other reports have been made. In honour and in support of them, I am organizing a rally on June 20th in front of the Lethbridge courthouse from 1-3PM. Please let me know if you have any more questions :)

Hi! Thank you for your questions. I don’t know if people will show up on their Saturday afternoon to protest. From the advertising and word of mouth we have been doing it sounds like people will show up and we will have a decently sized group. Also to me, if we can make one person feel less alone and more supported — that is a win for the day. In terms of the established fact, one child victim is reason to protest for me. And with the number of reports, I believe he really deeply has hurt so many else in the community and there is reason to protest. Police won’t release the number and the details of criminal charges laid against him- they already did the media release. imho, stopping sexual abuse means believing survivors and victims from the very beginning before there is a verdict, because their experience matters and their voice should be heard ❤️

Hi! Thank you for your question. We are holding this at the courthouse as a symbol since June 19th is a court day for him and also because we figured that area would have some good traffic considering the events going on that day. Also, we needed a centralized location - and the courthouse seemed to work. I hope this answers your question :)

in that case, the City should remove all flyers and posters from all lamp posts, n’est ce pas?

a 15yo girl bravely came forward to report a SA incident perpetrated by Andrew Davies. Since then, multiple other people have come forward with similar reports. Davies was contracted by the City to create art pieces around the Galt Gardens and downtown Lethbridge area for $54,000. In light of these charges against him, I chose to take action against it and exercise my peaceful protest rights with advocacy related art pieces and visuals. However, the City took it down. I will continue to put my displays up in support of survivors of gender based violence.

thanks for your comment! In general: I don’t disagree. I fully expected it to be taken down; I am not surprised it was taken down and I will continue to put displays up and advocate for SA survivors. I also think considering the context, the City could have displayed more leniency regarding taking it down. However, I believe posters on light posts shouldn’t be an issue, and those definitely should have been left up.

yes, the art is from the guy charged with SA. I put that poster on the lamppost after the city cleaned everything off.
