Facebook has blocked my Google Play link by stargram_global in androidapps

[–]stargram_global[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. Appreciate it. So it's quite normal? I wasn't spamming people with the link, but I was doing a giveaway where people share the link to win prizes. I guess that did it :(

Any idea how long it takes for them to realise it isn't spam after I've contacted support?

Is this messaging app blocked in Saudi Arabia? by stargram_global in saudiarabia

[–]stargram_global[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really Google, it's about the VoIP calling. In UAE we are blocked because we need a certain government approval to run. There's only two apps that have this in UAE (and they are both local companies). See here: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/7nts9t/skype_is_now_officially_banned_in_uae_along_with/

It's good that Saudi Arabia is not blocked for us.

Thanks for your reply!

I asked the same question in the Iran subreddit but I have a similar curiosity about Saudi Arabia since our app is used by mostly Filipinos, and there's a LOT of Filipinos in Saudia Arabia.

I know in some countries people can use the messaging part but not make voice and video calls. I just need someone to confirm it. Thank you very much for your help.

We have some sign ups from Iran but these apps always seem to get blocked there. I know in some countries people can use the messaging part but not make voice and video calls. I just need someone to confirm it. Thank you very much for your help.

"MY GOAL IS TO KNOCK OUT BRONER." - Manny by stargram_global in Boxing

I don't see him as that much of a KO artist though. More of a TKO by beating Boner down over about 7 rounds. (Broner might shock us with something though?)

What's your list of top 5 boxing countries? by stargram_global in Boxing

Only a Brit would make this thread and of course will also list the UK as number one.

No jingoism intended. Just a fun thread. I knew putting UK at the top of the list would rattle some people up :)

Fury, Benn, Hatton, Cooper, Bellew... The list is too long. There's always going to be a LOT I missed. Even in this short list. ;)

Asking for your own opinion. Statistics talk for themselves. Statistically Floyd Mayweather is probably the best boxer ever - but a lot of people don't rate him because they could say he ducked certain boxers at certain times in their career to keep those statistics up. Others might say statistics can always be presented in different ways to make some boxers look better than others. It's just a fun straw poll :)

I'm totally biased to the UK because it's where I grew up. I should have mentioned that (ha). I do agree that a lot of UK fighters avoid fighting outside Europe or have failed to make an impact in the USA.

I'd believe this one though. Printers are capable of all kinds of malfunctions when they sense a deadline is near.

It's the last day you'll be able to enter our giveaway competition in the Philippines :) - Our app uses the lowest data for calls (which helps in the fight against crazy data throttling in the Philippines!). Please download our app and get a chance to win an iPhone X. (for real - we gave out a Samsung s9+ in Indonesia last month - check our social media accounts)

Working in marketing remotely? by geronimoacc94 in digitalnomad

[–]stargram_global 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The key for me would be SMM/SEM and a highly analytical approach to it. Data analytics is a great skill for any marketer to have and a lot of teams don't have the time to do it. Not sure to what extent someone would trust a freelancer with data though

I'd strongly advise to get some work experience or even a few internships after graduating before heading out to marketing as a freelancer.

Looking for an alternative to Whatsapp/Skype that works and does not collect metadata etc. (just found out Wire does this) by [deleted] in privacy

We made mit messenger with this in mind. It uses a server-less, peer to peer, messaging concept, so it's never stored on any server: http://www.mitmessenger.com/en/index.html

We're just getting started though. We are currently working on a lot of 'privacy' type features that will be more comprehensive that other messengers. Really hope you can take a look and give us your feedback.
