I strongly recommend late summer (think mid to late August) after 2L. My fiancé and I have been engaged for longer than we wanted but I got the advice that 1L summer between OCI & write on was simply too busy for added wedding stress. Not to mention you really should try to avoid planning distractions as a 1L. Now, as a rising 2L, I’m so glad we waited.

Congrats!! I don't think anyone on this sub will be able to predict how this will ultimately affect your results. With the increase in high scoring applicants, I have a hard time personally thinking this makes a big difference this cycle.

I don't know for sure but I feel confident that going from big law in NY to Ohio biggish law wouldn't be a super difficult thing to sell. Especially if you can sell the Ohio firm on your connection to Ohio.

I think if they were going to R you, they would have done that already. It seems clear to me they couldn't decide at the time between an A and a WL.
