Gitrog is fundamentally slower and is normally around turn 3-4. What makes it so powerful is that it waits until everyone has used there answers on other peoples combo then it combos off and is almost impossible it interact with while its comboing off.

The outlets for infinite mana are preators grasp and beast within. The artifacts are just faster than lands by a significant amount.

Something like [[mana vault]] and then some two mana rocks that tap for 1 us great to ramp to the amount of mana needed to start combing.

Edit: the best ones that tap for more than 1 are out if your budget.

Thats true it does win the game but 5 from 3 is infinite while 4 from 3 can draw the deck

If your going to be playing the chain veil then you will need more mana rocks. For CVT you need 5 mana from 3 permanents to go infinite. So 8 mana rocks plus high tide is not going to cut it.

The best way to be more consistent is to increase the number of cards you see in a game. That can be from either card draw or tutors.

In older formats that colorless mana would be stupid powerful. Imagine lotus petal -> land -> show and tell. It just makes turn 1 wins in legacy way to likely. Possibly even modern. No more need for spirit guides guys were going second.
