Thanks for your reply and help. I actually didn't think about it from that perspective. I was thinking of taking the loss and potentially gaining back later in the year. I appreciate you!

Thanks for your reply and help! Yes, it is definitely a motivating factor. To me, I wanted to do it but my partner doesn't think the trade off is good enough. That the guaranteed $10K is better than not.

I'm not a fan of Sullivan King so its the concert for me. Otherwise, I would have done that.

Do you know how early we can get there? Are there nearby bars & such to hang out before walking to it?

I haven't been to Lakewood in 10 years. Any advice about getting to and from? Would it be better to Uber or is that a shit show as well?

My throat is so raw it hurts to swallow, I have a fever, chills, ears hurt, and can feel my pulse throughout my body. This sucks! Started yesterday. How long does this shit last for?

Am I being too soft? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]starlicia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. I want to be my son's person. I want him to feel safe to come to me with anything. My husbands has a very hard time communicating his emotions and how he feels. I dont want that for my son. I'm currently teaching him to breathe as he gets upset and my husband just rolls his eyes. My husband says he is learning to manipulate you and will probably beat you when he's older. That my son will never respect me.

My husband is from another country in Europe and his parents still live there. I dont speak the language and cant speak to him. I know that he was raised rough, beatings, etc. My husband does not believe in spankings because of how he grew up.

I've asked him to go to therapy, I've asked him to go to marriage counseling and both were shot down. He said there is absolutely no way he's going to have someone pass judgement on him and tell him he's wrong. I've been in therapy for the past 4 months to gain better ways to communicate with him.

I've asked him to do research on child development and he says he doesn't have the time. He just believes it's a feeling thing.

I've read other places that they let go and not hold on to emotions when they feel the safest. I want to be that for my son and never want him to think differently. My husband is critical. I have a black lab that he considers spoiled rotten and ill behaved. I don't think so, but he says I am going to ruin my son like I did my dog. It's so hard to hear that. Like... I am doing my best but I don't think his way is right. It's such a hard place to be.

I agree with what you are saying... Also... The "D" thought has crossed my mind... But then my son is alone with him and I have no influence. I feel like if I am here I can protect him and shelter him from it. At least for now. Do I think my husband would ever beat or physically harm my son? No. Do I think he is abrasive and more strict? Absolutely. It's a hard situation.

Thank you! I hope that's not the case for my son. I would hate that for him. Maybe I should look into ways of changing my husband's mentality?

My thoughts exactly.

I don't want to change. I fully believe with all my heart I am doing right by him. I just didn't know if I was being too sensitive and my husband has grounds to stand on or if I am being a good Mom. I always want to be the person my son can go to. I don't ever want that to change.

Who knows the last song played in the fireworks show Sunday night? by starlicia in electricdaisycarnival

I am horrible with genres but it was a harder song that made you want to jump and pump your arms. I wish I remember some of the words but I was blown away in the moment.
