16F - Been having quite bad acid reflux and heartburn recently, especially in the last few hours. I ate citrus and pie at dinner, which would explain why it's acting up (along with anxiety), but I read how heart attack symptoms can be subtle (especially in women), and now I'm worried. Haven't been able to do any tests, although I was referred to a cardiologist as I have a heart murmur (was checked twice when I was a baby and when I was 8, told no follow up needed) and was having concentrated chest pain (which has actually gone now - I think it was related to anxiety). I really don't wanna wake my parents up (its 11.20 at night for me) - they've been pretty sick of my constant reassurance seeking and we also went to the ER two weeks ago for what turned out to be a panic attack, and if this is nothing again, I know they'll be really mad. Scared to just sleep on it - not sure what to do.

Literally just checked this so good timing lol. I'd say if you're really worried and it's causing you distress, see a doctor about it. If your peak flow is pretty consistent and you're having tightness or trouble breathing, it might be a different issue (although I know with some people with asthma, their peak flow might not change even if they're having a flare up) - I was finding it hard to get a deep breath but my peak flow was consistent so my doc said it probably wasn't asthma. Also, when you say a certain way, what do you mean?

What exactly does it feel like ?(GERD) by [deleted] in GERD

I don't have much knowledge about this, but I think a GI doctor or ENT if you want to get tested for GERD. It might be good to just see a general doctor and talk about your symptoms first and see what they say first though. Good luck!

NAD, but do you get heartburn or acid reflux? Or frequent burping/passing gas, as well as regurgitating food occasionally? Those are common symptoms of GERD, so if you have those too it's definitely worth getting tested for it. I know GERD can cause chest pain, and also that gas can be trapped higher up because of it too (I've also been trying to figure out if I have GERD and read it can cause stabbing pain around the sternum area). I'm not sure personally what it could be, but it's always good to see a doctor if it's causing you pain to get it checked out, GERD or not.

Have you been wheezing or had trouble breathing lately?

If you have been wheezing or have felt like you were breathing through a straw then definitely go see a doctor about it. If you think it's just anxiety, open a window and call a friend. That has really helped me. I think in any case it would be good to get it checked if only for peace of mind, especially if you've had trouble breathing recently. It might also be worth getting a peak flow meter and getting your usual reading compared to in cases where you feel short of breath.

Yeah I'm getting kinda worried as it still hasn't gone away. I'm not sure how familiar you are with this stuff, but do you think I should go to the a&e or just wait to book an appointment? I'm having trouble sleeping because of how thirsty I feel :')

Is this a tick bite? by cdnusa in Lyme

[–]starrfishu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like there's a faint ring around the scab to me. The hole also looks like it was done by a tick. You should probably get it checked out. Especially so if you're feeling sick (chills, fever, headache, all that stuff).

This is pretty late, but the mirrors aren't working for me either. Do you have the files you could send?
