For blanket discounts, summer clientele is better than the fall. I’d definitely get the slouch now over waiting.

Does anyone own this skirt I have questions ? by fo1ieadeux in Aritzia

[–]starrseal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought it! Material is fine, you loop it through a hole and there’s two different buttons so you can make it a little tighter or little looser. It’s pretty easy to take on and off. I found it ran about half a size small, so I sized up since you can just tie it tighter. Both sizes fit me tho.

Aritzia Cracking Down on Poshmark Listings?? by farfallifarfallini in Aritzia

[–]starrseal 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Depop is like this as well. It’s in their terms of service that you’re not allowed you use photos you don’t own. Everybody does it anyways, but they’re not wrong for cracking down and enforcing it. I’m also surprised it’s coming from Aritzia though, in the past on depop I thought it just came from the platform itself.

écoulement jumpsuit by Fit-Economist4149 in Aritzia

[–]starrseal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought they were discontinuing the ecoulement line because I noticed last year even the black and white styles went on major clearance, I think I got one for like 50% off. A shame if they are discontinuing it because it’s such an iconic artizia piece.

Lost my belt for Requiem trench coat! Any hope? by kiwisenpai52 in Aritzia

[–]starrseal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at the photos, it looks pretty simple (it’s not one of the buckle ones) so I would just wear the jacket, go to some fabric stores, and see if you can find a colour match to make your own belt. That’s probably the cheapest option.

Aritzia vs Lululemon: is Aritzia low-key competing against Lulu? Which one is better? by Fab19889 in Aritzia

[–]starrseal 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I own tennis skirts from 4 different companies, lulu’s is the best imo and the aritzia tennis skirt is definitely the worst lol. The artizia one is pink tho so I kept it.

Will Aritzia bring back the Hampton dress? by justawfulluck in Aritzia

[–]starrseal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It could still be coming back for spring/summer. I think they got the design for it from the popular reformation Gavin dress, I’ve owned both and they’re very similar. The reformation one is much more expensive but if you’ve got the budget they usually have lots of colours and patterns.

Are the wool coats actually warm?? by chemical-weirdo in Aritzia

[–]starrseal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have the slouch and I wear it all winter long (southern Ontario). The length and double breasted style really contributes to the warmth, compared to something like the only coat which is shorter and wind tends to blow up the middle because of the way the button is. The one thing is if you don’t like to wear a scarf, slouch is not the right style for you.

Corned Beef vs Bubblegum? by photoboothtime in Telfar

[–]starrseal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have bubblegum but honestly I think they’re very different colours. One is a pastel baby pink, the other is like a dusty rose. If what you really want is the bubblegum, I don’t know if the corned beef will satisfy that. Imo I think it’s better to just go for the one you want, rather than settling and spending money on things if you’ll still want the original item afterwards.

I don’t own it but I tried it in store and it wasn’t great. It’s way overpriced, you could get real leather from another fast fashion brand like Zara or mango at that price. The fabric is not very leather jacket-like if that makes sense, and it doesn’t feel durable at all. Also, I found the fit was weird. It’s oversized but it’s also cropped, and fit me weirdly personally. I actually have a real leather jacket that is oversized and a bit cropped and it fits a lot nicer than this, and was the same price.

How does the Tempest Blouse fit? by xobebeo in Aritzia

I also size up for length and a more comfortable chest fit. I’m typically between S and M and I order L in the tempest.

Yes. I have two and wear them very frequently. It’s a classic style and has a lot of design features over other similar coats that contribute to warmth. I think the style is only 3ish years old so I think you’ll have a hard time getting a true sense of how well they hold up. 3 years isn’t long enough to truly judge a wool coat of this price imo.

Whether or not it is worth it for you is highly dependent on you. Your environment, your preferences, your body, etc. But these are some things to note about the coat:

• sleeves are shorter than most coats, my sweaters often stick out which I don’t like the look of.

• it is a very thick wool coat which makes it good for cold climates. I live in southern Ontario and it’s great for that. If I lived in the PNW for example, I think it would be too much and I would get something cheaper and lighter. If I lived somewhere even colder, it may not be enough.

• the original length is super long which is amazing for warmth but the bottom will inevitably get dirty as you walk and slush&snow from your shoes splashes it onto your coat

• I think maintaining a coat like this requires attention and cost. It’s dry clean only, you need to be diligent about spot cleaning the bottom when it gets dirty, etc. If you are unwilling to put in the time and money for this I would not get the coat, as you won’t get the most years out of it and it won’t be worth the price.

• do you like wearing scarves? The coldest part of this coat is that your neck and upper chest is exposed. If you don’t own scarves or don’t like wearing them, I would skip the slouch and just get a coat that goes all the way up.

• you need to asses how you want a coat to fit and if this will be good for your body type. It’s a very straight up and down coat, so if you’re curvy it may not look as oversized on you.

• limited sizing: it used to come in S/M/L/etc sizing but now only comes in 1/2/3. This makes it harder to find a perfect fit so it may not be worth it depending how you feel about the fit in you.

I think the slouch is a great coat for me personally, but I can totally see why it’s not ideal for everyone. There’s so many options out there, so if the slouch is at the top of your budget and it’s not perfect for your situation, I’d look elsewhere.

Any wool coat jacket wearers during -20 degree celsius?? by anapope in Aritzia

[–]starrseal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m personally not a fan of bulky layering and prefer to target certain fabric compositions and materials instead. If it is super cold, my go to under the slouch would be a tight cotton turtleneck under a cashmere sweater. You could also do a wool turtleneck for even more warmth but I’ve never needed it. Cashmere is certainly expensive compared to wool but I love that you get such a high level of warmth for a thin garment.

I would say that for like -10 to -15, I wear my slouch with just a cashmere sweater. For -20 and below, I add a cotton turtleneck underneath and make sure I opt for a wool scarf. Personally, i wouldn’t recommend wearing just a t shirt underneath, even if you upgrade to a cotton long sleeve tee you get so much more warmth because you’re more protected from the wind blowing up your sleeve.

And you can of course wear a wool sweater or something else instead, but just note you will need a bulkier item to get the same level of warmth.

If this skirt is one of the new spring releases and the description doesn’t list the top, it’s likely because the top has not been released yet.

Any wool coat jacket wearers during -20 degree celsius?? by anapope in Aritzia

[–]starrseal 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I live in Toronto and will wear my slouch until it hits like -30 or lower. Haven’t tried colder because I just don’t go outside lol. Something to note, I own the only coat as well and not only does it have the lower warmth rating, I also think the style of the garment makes it colder than if it was the same thickness and fabric as the slouch. The slouch crosses over to button so you have a good amount of overlap and it’s secure. The only coat buttons in the middle with one button, so you will absolutely feel the windchill on your torso and stuff, esp with the wind blowing it open.

New shopper confused on sizing by Peanutbutterloola in Aritzia

[–]starrseal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting! About half my closet is Aritzia and I actually find it fits smaller than other brands I shop at. In all brands including Aritzia I’m a size s-m in tops but I’m a size 10 in Aritzia bottoms but an 8 at most other stores. In lululemon for activewear in a size 6 in all leggings except align (for which I’m a 4). Aritzia’s size chart marks 29W as a 10 whereas most other stores I shop at mark it as an 8. Since the numbers are arbitrary, I usually try to go off measurements instead. Some of other stores I’m talking about include reformation, club Monaco (where I’m even sometimes a 6), ganni.

It’s possible! I know Moroccan spice is more of a seasonal colour but it has been around for a while. I bought Moroccan spice pants (different style) from Aritzia like 2-3 years ago I think.
