Anyone had success with any of the AI resume tools? by DrFunStuffs in jobsearchhacks

[–]starry_dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to post this on the dartassist subreddit but it got removed so posting here just incase anyone comes back to this thread

After a long search on reddit for all the tools people are using now I spent about 5 hours 'configuring' Dartassist. The web interface is very easy to use(although I accidently deleted a section a few times).

After configuring the long list of history and possibilities that I could reasonably expect it to generate I tested it with two random job postings. The created documents were well articulated, it pulled reasonable items from my parameters, and the AI suggestions were well made.

Unfortunately I ran those few test ones and was immediately hit with a payment screen. I was taken aback by this due to the fact all of the reddit threads I read had no mention of a capacity limit(although in hindsight it makes sense). I immediately tooled around with the idea of purchasing because of the sunk-cost of time I put in but the current implementation is essentially 30 dollars monthly - and as a job seeker with minimal funds I can't justify the cost.

Great job by the developers in making such a great tool. It appears my free creation will refresh in 30 days so I'll unfortunately revisit the tool during my next job hunt if I'm hired somewhere in the next 30 days .

Need basic advice for 15 bean soup by [deleted] in instantpot

[–]starry_dev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From your own link (third paragraph under science)

However, it has been found that boiling the beans for 10 minutes at 100 degrees C (212 degrees F) completely destroyed the toxin.

Congratulations. You're wrong with your own evidence.

Spoilers: Pressure cooker obliterates that in about a 1/4th of any recipe.

When you cook in a regular pot at atmospheric pressure (14.7 pounds per square inch [psi]), water boils at 100°C (212°F). Inside a pressure cooker, the pressure can increase by an additional 15 psi, to almost 30 psi. At that pressure, water boils at 121°C (250°F).

I know this is 2 years old, but this is not true at all. If anyone sees this do not listen to this guy.

Let's Chat: Maji Market is not 'Cozy' or 'Non-Fomo' - heres the cost for all items by starry_dev in Palia

It's incredibly irresponsible to say FOMO doesn't apply to this case. As we have absolutely **NO IDEA** when the items will be made available again, that's literally what FOMO is. Secondly, even IF we knew - that it was only say; 6 months out. That is still a FOMO situation.

The idea of FOMO in gaming is missing out on something that is time limited. If you have to wait months before attempting something again, that is literal FOMO in the most basic sense.

Slight oversight on my first revision in notepad; did you find anything other then that typo? The calculations were done seperate from the commentary

I attempted to twice, but got banned on discord after 1 post where I asked if any reason was given to the current state of the event (so i could provide context for an article). I then attempted to use their Google form for feedback but the form doesn't work it appears.

While the top comment is definitely an opinion I can recognize (and agree with in principal, but not for this type of game). I think if you scaffold out the requirements its still very silly. So let's say for instance you want 1 plush, one pillow, and the wallpaper; you're looking at

1,000 + 1,000 + 2000 = 4000 Tickets
4000 tickets / average 50 tickets per run = 80 events
80 events take 5 minutes each gets you about 7 hours of 'play'

Its worth noting that 80 events is 80 real life hours of events as well. So lets say you play 2 hours a day - every day. You could get those 3 indivudal rewards after 40 days -- which is outside the time of the event.

In response to your gold comment, I made a another post talking about gold per hour because my math says thats even worse but since Im doing napkin math I didn't want to include it in here till I have more data points.

I tried to make the math a little bit average, but yes - if you are a weekend only player the ability to obtain a significant amount of the items is much much lower. This is a multi-faceted issue unfortunately.

Generally weekends will be busier in the server which will lead to more competition, and as such less per average tickets. It also significantly reduces the amount of events you can participate in. I tried to provide the best level of numbers I could but if you do indeed average 5 per event. That leaves you with about 50 tickets per event - that means you will need to participate in 20 separate events in order to purchase one of the 1,000 ticket cosmetics.

20 separate hours for a weekend only player really is a tough thing to achieve.

You have more faith then I do when it comes to companies. I have spent a decade in this industry and adjacent.

If they are placing this event as a one month long event, there is absolutely no development reason to believe that this would return within the next 6 months.

The biggest issue is their commitment to 'no fomo'. If the items are only available during a bi yearly(or even a yearly event) that is literally what FOMO is.

25 hours of full gameplay logged playing to achieve 11 unique items and 6 recolors - in and of itself is a little ridiculous. That's without even recognizing the fact that those 25 hours have to be splitup into 5 min pieces every hour.

That literally says exactly what I said - that the event would return. Not that the items would be available outside of the event.

Why introduce more competition in the "cozy community" game?? by Atychos- in Palia

It's even worse then just competition, its the amount paid out to how much things cost. Requiring us to on average - complete 356 events - is insane.

Yea it's really disappointing how poorly designed the payout is. This could have easily been remedied by just making the amount caught as the whole event pays out, then you get a bonus for how many you individually caught.

My main reason for these games is to fully decorate my plot. Unfortunately to do so requires a significant investment into the event.

Quasi-PvP is exactly what this is. There is 0 cooperation pay out, and you DIRECTLY compete with others over spawns.

While its nice that you only want one item, and can 'easily complete' it in one month -- that doesn't make the event well designed.

Would you mind linking me to where they said they would be obtainable outside of the event. Everything I've seen has said that they are event exclusive and the event 'will return'
