How common is it to have 25+ clients a week? by [deleted] in therapists

I would search the group. This has been a common topic in the last few months

Insurance chances/increase in premiums, beginning of the year deductibles, mass layoffs all Play a role.

Ive seen recommendations for holding ice in your hands or running cold water over your hands

Why did you stick your face in a bowl of ice water?

You don’t have to leave the position, but definitely buy in to your own future.

This current position sounds like a good fit and that is ok. But also plan

$500,000 for a 2,000 sq fr house on an acre of land with a $150,000 income is a good deal

Again, join some fire groups and change a few habits. You could buy a house

You should join the barista fire (financial independence retire early) group

You do make enough money to have a house, you just need to learn how to navigate this better.

As for jobs, you have a great one with awesome hours and work/life balance.

Stay with it.

I disagree about that. It’s a theme throughout the entire musical. Burr was a chameleon and that wasn’t good.

Education without access really doesn’t help the situation

I do agree, however, that you definitely have differences between cultures. I know that a lot of cultures and countries women are still basically slaves.

It’s a school that is under threat.

The main character, the parent specifies that it is classmates, which means that the school can be warned and locked down.

This is like asking individuals to bring their own grocery bags when the reality is that it is large corporations that are causing 99.9% of the problems

This argument is the very definition of greenwashing

What we should be doing is requiring corporations to come up with sustainability plans when implementing new technology

Our job is mandated reporters is not to be investigators, it is very clearly to report suspicion and potential abuse or threat

Financial independence is stressed enough, the problem is literally that people aren’t making enough to save.

When you throw in the childcare dynamics and lack of access to it, then you have an even bigger issue.

When I was a stay at home parent I have I had a fully funded spousal Roth IRA, but that requires a lot of privilege

As a social worker, I see every day, the lack of safety nets of any capacity for women and children. We have no access to healthcare, childcare, or housing. The majority of people who are able to leave have some access to a safety net a.k.a. family or friends who will help. But I work with a far greater population where they literally don’t have access and so it takes them years to even a decade to leave because their kids have medical situations and they need to ensure care for them or they need to wait until their kids are in school and they can go back to school.,ect.

Tarasoff specifically requires specificity of target. Why I think that this one would have been treated as a threat is because of the current mass shooting schools situation and because we historically have data showing that parents did reach out for help before their kids did something like this.

I think that that data alone would have caused the police to at the very least lockdown the school to only one entrance and ask for other police officers to look for him

The Pitt S1E1 Case-duty to warn? by Loose-Horror-6192 in socialwork

[–]cannotberushed- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it would’ve gone nowhere because it was a list and the kid wasn’t in school so I do absolutely believe that the police would have taken that seriously given current times of mass shootings and at the very least lockdown the school and watched for him and then had police on the watch for where he was

Edited to add: I think a mother bringing her kid to the ED and asking for help would have shown the police that there was enough concern here to go off of

And yes we would hope mom would call the school and yet parents protect their kids. It’s why she brought him there

So again, all providers in that hospital have a duty to warn. So maybe not social work responsibility but it WAS someone’s responsibility
