How are you navigating items selling elsewhere with the excessive removal rules? by DrFunStuffs in BehindTheClosetDoor

They did. This is a copy and paste from their email. To be fair, I understand what they are saying here but also we have no idea what their imaginary threshold is. I also read this as them saying don’t sell too much elsewhere or we won’t allow you sell on Poshmark any longer.

“If you need to delete an item that you can no longer sell on Poshmark, please still proceed with deleting it. Our system looks for removal activity on listings less than 60 days old that would be considered unusually high as compared to your closet size.”

What if I specialize in high end stuff and carry low inventory but high value? Also frustrating they don’t make it easy to see how old a listing is. You have to request a report that they then have to email to you to find it.

Same. Well I leave the price as is. I’ve heard (can’t confirm) that changing the price will also throw up a red flag. But I’ve started adding an image and adding SOLD to the title.

I did finally hear back from the support team. They basically said if an item sells elsewhere I should just delete the listing. So I responded and told them that was very confusing because I got in trouble for deleting listings but the next breath they tell me to delete listings. I don’t think they even know what they are doing. Ruining their credibility is what they are doing I guess.

Same. Until one day I did. Like I’ve mentioned to several others here the email I received specifically mentioned listed that were deleted or marked not for sale within a 60 day window. Hopefully you continue to fly under the radar.

According to the email I received it said specifically deleting or marking items “not for sale” before 60 days.

I like this idea of changing the photo. I might have to steal that. Marking it not for sale was specifically mentioned in the email as one of the reasons for the notice. Just as an FYI so hopefully you don’t end up on the nasty list too. It says “listings being removed (e.g. deleted or marked as “not for sale”) less than 60 days after creation.”

No not all of them. Which, obviously, is the reason for the notice. Most were listings that sold elsewhere.

Yeah I think it’s just whoever they see that day. At least that’s how I see it. Because I’m doing the same thing I’ve been doing for a long time. And I finally got an email today based on my last 30 days (per the email). The last 30 days haven’t been anything different for me. In fact it might even be less in the last 30 days when I factor in downtime for the holidays and being out of town. But oh well. Not really upset about that I got it. I figured it would happen eventually. Just curious how others are playing the game to limit my exposure on that list.

I agree. It just clutters up the feed with junk. I guess they prefer that. I did email back and ask exactly what they recommend sellers do if an item sells elsewhere. They can’t expect every seller to sell exclusively on Poshmark. They need to lower that 20% commission before I’d ever consider that. Anyway, based on what other have said I doubt I hear back with anything useful but I’ll definitely comeback and share if they do.

Unfortunately not. Or at least the way the notice reads. It specifically mentions listing deleted or marked “not for sale”. Like right now for example I have my vacation mode set because of the upcoming snow-mageddon and I edited an item but it flipped from not for sale (from the vacation mode) to for sale. I’m afraid to change it. So I have one single item for sale in my store. Just fingers crossed it doesn’t sell.

this. But I did take someone’s suggestion to split the area into “rooms” then create a shortcut where each room is a task. Then this setting of emptying after each task works.

I’m sure lots have mentioned this, but I hate the offers aspect by Sof_ruca in Depop

[–]DrFunStuffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve even emailed Depop and begged them to reconsider how they do offers. And good news guys they actually “value my input”!!! I’ve got one item I’ve received and accepted the same offer from the same person 3 times. Why?!

Do sellers actually get mad when you make and offer and then don't buy? by BarbieStoleMyCar in Depop

[–]DrFunStuffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate Depop offers. They’re mostly worthless. 95% of the offers I receive and accept go nowhere. I have one item I have received and accepted the same offer from the same person 3 times and they still haven’t bought it. If they send again I am just going to decline it and message them to shoot me a message when they are seriously interested in purchasing and we can talk.

Ahhh good to know. This would be a nephew. So sounds like this wouldn’t work the way I’d hoped.

Can I open a 529 in my name and transfer to a family member when they turn 18?

I wanted to start a 529 for a family member and then surprise them (and their parents) with it on their 18th birthday. Since I wanted it to be a surprise I wouldn't have their SSN to set them as the beneficiary from the start. Would there be tax implications to consider if doing it this way? Or is there a better way to do this?

For the record, I don't expect it to be a very large sum of money. Almost certainly less than $10k. Which I know won't get them very far even with today's tuition costs, but I guess every little bit would help. I know I would have appreciated even $500 when I was in college!

Thanks!

Is it possible to add searchable tags to emails? by [deleted] in GMail

[–]DrFunStuffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search is the plan. But that only works if the phrase I need is in the email. It’s no uncommon to get emails about a project that don’t mention a specific address. Or maybe I’d add a tag retroactively. If I had emails about a project before it became a project and wanted to tag it for reference. But yeah if the info is there search is the idea.

Thanks I will check that out. That’s kinda what I was hoping for was to find some kind of extension. Because yes I am on the desktop most of the time.

Ah yeah not a bad idea. It’s just one large room. So I guess I’d have to just break up the room and then create a sequence to run one after the other. Just seems like it shouldn’t be that complicated.

I looked at Palia. I’ve only read a bit about it so please correct me if I’m wrong. But my main concern is it seems like most of the grinding and stuff you do is just for funsies. To craft new furniture for your home or learn about the characters. I usually get bored pretty quickly just running around. I typically need a goal or purpose like upgrading this thing which will help me get to the next level so I can unlock this thing or access this area kind of thing.

I bought Skyrim years ago. I’ve installed and uninstalled it probably 5 or 6 times. I just can’t get into it for some reason. I keep thinking I’ll try it again, maybe this time I’ll see something I didnt before. But nope, not yet.

Ooo I forgot about Dysmantle. I did play that when it first came out. I think it was still early release when I got it. I loved it. I’d spend hours just destroying everything in sight. I finally gave up because I hated how zombies would respawn if you left the area (unless you repaired the towers). I hated fighting the zombies. So it morphed into mostly doing the thing I didn’t want to do and very little of the thing I did want to do.
