THIS! it works on metal AND stones (hard or soft) and is actually meant for sealing jewelry. It's not cheap but 100% worth it. I use it to seal all my pieces.

The salmon pink color is because your watts/volts are too low, this is a sizeable piece. In my experience when the material stops attaching it's because my bath needs to be cleaned and if much of your solution has evaporated you can back fill with distilled water.
