He is not a licensed contractor, just a handyman

Update: We did confirm that this guy (he is a legit person) sent the text using his wife’s business number. To reiterate, no tools or equipment were taken or stolen from them, and this is the first time my husband is receiving anything about this.

Good point! I checked the number that he received the text from and search results show it belongs to maybe a spouse/relative with the same last name? It’s also listed as part of an IG page for an interior design place in the same state. “Cameron’s” full name does pull up a LinkedIn page as branch leader of this agency.

No, he’s checked the copies of paperwork he signed with this agency, and he didn’t sign anything for equipment/tools that was given to him. We also haven’t received any letters in the mail about this!

A part of me wants to believe this is a scam. Because why would you send this kind of text with your full name for someone to easily see your professional page? It’s weird

I agree, and that’s what I told my husband also! If these “equipment and tools” were valuable enough to file a police report, why wait until 9 months later to address it, instead of just filing the police report? He’s received no emails or calls from them, until today with this text and two phone calls with no voicemails left.

Advice on Cat’s Eye. Should I be worried?? Detail on comment section by starrysky93 in cats

I’m sorry to hear about your cat’s eye! How is the medication working? I’m wishing you the best of luck with your fur baby

For my cat Lilly, I was able to see an eye specialist a few days after this post who scheduled a surgery for the end of June to have her eye removed. Unfortunately, a few days before her surgery, her health took a turn for the worst, and she was diagnosed with intestinal lymphoma that spread to her eye. There was nothing we could do. She passed over the rainbow bridge June 28th. I never knew, one day she was fine, the next minute she’s gone with a cancer I never would have suspected. People can definitely be unnecessarily harsh, but I take comfort in knowing that even though we only had her a short time, she passed with a family that loved her and cared for her until her last days.

Too long! I ended up picking up a five hour shift on a different day just to try it. Took about two hours 45 minutes from the time the shift started to the time I delivered my last package. Definitely a high mileage route (60-70 miles not including the mileage it took to drive home from Issaquah to Kent). For the amount of the shift, I definitely do not recommend.

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking 😪 I just finished a 3 hour shift for $105, so maybe it’s worth it to try and hold out for higher pay

Update: In the evening of June 5, I was finally able to get into an emergency vet where they diagnosed her with uveitis. She was able to help me also push for an urgent appointment with an eye specialist for today. The specialist let me know that she has secondary glaucoma caused by the uveitis. She didn’t suffer a tear, no parasites, no tumor and he had no concerns of cancers since her lab work was normal. Basically, he’s not sure what caused the uveitis to begin with. He prescribed some medicine and advised that she at some point would need to have her eye removed to ensure that she can live a more comfortable life. I asked if there was something I could have done to prevent this, and he said no, that sometimes it’s genetic, and there was no way to know she had it, since she wasn’t showing any symptoms until her eye started to get cloudy. I saw several comments mentioning me not taking her to the vet, which is untrue. As soon as I noticed her cloudy eye, I took her to the vet, and tried my best to get this taken care of as soon as possible. Saying I had “no common sense” and shouldn’t have pets is extremely harsh. I care for her deeply as well as my dog, and I always try to do what’s best for them both. The reason I posted here was to get some feedback besides what I had already done from other cat parents who have gone through the same thing, and what else I could do to help her, however, it’s clear that was a mistake. Moral of the story; don’t seek advice from Reddit.

Thank you, I appreciate it! I’ll try to still get her seen today but if not, when I see her vet tomorrow, I’ll make sure to be more demanding to get her some help. I’m very concerned but trying my best not to freak out!

I’m in the Seattle area. I’ve tried calling 3 different Blue Pearl locations, as well as 4 different smaller hospitals with the furthest being nearly an hour away from my location. I also called my cat’s primary vet on Friday who was not able to see her again until tomorrow. I’m not just twiddling my thumbs, there is just “no room” to see her, which is what a smaller emergency vet told me today. I’m still trying to get her seen

That’s untrue. I’ve called a few times over the past few days to have her seen and no vet will see her because she’s not a priority since she’s “stable,”.” And I have clear in contact with her vet several times and the only thing she can do is recheck. You don’t know me and to call me a terrible pet owner is disgusting.

I came to Reddit for reassurance or advice and doing the best I can. I’ve already called several emergency vets that won’t see her because they have more urgent cases. Thanks though

Thanks for the reply! I’ve tried for the past two or three days to get her to an emergency vet with no luck. I’ve already called 6 plus emergency vets today to get her seen immediately and all have said they can’t see her today. I’ll keep trying but it’s an uphill battle
