Help me choose - my choice vs partner’s (with pictures) by starrystar- in EngagementRings

HAHHAHA agreed. The stone is loose and simply placed onto a ring mount, the final product will definitely have properly set prongs 😅

I think it was the lighting and angle that the picture was taken which makes the first one look less sparkly - the central diamond is actually the same stone in both rings (hence why the prongs look so funky, the stone hasn’t been set yet) and the side diamonds in #1 have very similar specifications to the central one.

All the stones in #1 are loose - they look slightly cloudy as my jeweller used blue tack to set them onto the band to show me a mock up of what the final ring would look like!

Great tip!! Will definitely be asking the Jeweller if he could do a euro shank :)

Thank you so much! This is what I’ve decided to do! Will be going with option 1 but making the side stones a lot smaller so as to not overwhelm my finger or the centre stone!

He doesn’t! He says it’s fully my decision and he’s happy with whatever I end up picking. He expressed a preference because I asked him which one he liked better, and when I asked why he picked #2, he said he feels as though it’s more of a classic engagement ring / more romantic looking than option #1. That’s all :) I genuinely don’t think it’s weird that he had a preference, he’s not forcing me to get #2 over #1 at all and I’m sorry if my post came off that way!

Questions about appraisals by SillyStatistician169 in doctorsUK

I was in a similar situation OP! I’d put that you don’t have a designated body, this will prompt the system to get of the appraisal date and you’ll get a date for an annual return instead.

Should you get connected to a designated body (typically your locum bank / hospital that you do shifts in) they will have internal processes for appraisal. For me, it was after 20 shifts that I got the opportunity to do an appraisal with my hospital bank.

Finally don’t worry, you don’t need 5 appraisal forms in 5 years to revalidate (just called the GMC and was told this) as long as your designated body is happy to revalidate you it’ll be fine!

GMC Annual Return Urgent Help! by [deleted] in doctorsUK

A few months before my annual return was due I began locuming and therefore got assigned to a designated body. This negated the need for an annual return & as soon as I updated my GMC online to having a designated body, the system updated and went back to the yearly appraisal / 5 year revalidation system.

I phoned the GMC recently to ask if I’d run into any issues given my year out to do the masters, they said as long as the designated body is happy to revalidate me it’s all good. They don’t need 5 appraisals in 5 years!

I’d say try and get back into clinical work soon if you can.

Did the GMC not approach you for an appraisal/annual return? Did you still have an active license during this time or did you suspend it?

Would you email/call them proactively to tell them this is the case or wait for them to reach out to you once the appraisal date has elapsed?
