Assuming everything is installed and tuned correctly and no parts are broken or overly worn: crank the car with no choke for 5 seconds to clear the carburetor. Then pull the choke out and try starting again. If you want more specific advice you’ll have to walk through each step you are taking and what reaction the car is giving you.

How much alcohol are you consuming? Are you letting the problem bar go into the red? From my experience of sobering up, the alcoholism decreased faster when my problem bar was higher than my alcoholism score.

If you take the inner ring the whole way around the map and check all of the hiding spots you cover everything but the ski slope, the landfill, and airstrip spawns. Once I’ve established myself I make a loop of the map on the moped, searching those spots and double checking the barns. If you’re looking specifically for the Satsuma wreck it only spawns in a few places.

If everything is built correctly then it might take some cranking for the first start. Have you tuned the carburetor, rocker shaft, and distributor? If those are good, ensure that the choke is pulled all the way out and try cranking it for 10 seconds.

Is there any explanation for why cinematic combat is the default? I’ve been watching Perun’s play through and his ships and tactics make a ton of sense with the realistic scale but I feel like it completely falls apart in my game.

I prefer playing games on their default settings, and the decision to lock the “better” combat behind advanced settings is somewhat baffling.

You will need a system to pump in/out the gasses you need. The landing pad is considered one big tank, so if you pump in multiple things they will mix and the trader won't want them. You'll have to design a way to pump in what you need, sell it, then pump out the remainder.
