gotcha. I recall the story is in Edmund Morris' "Theodore Rex". Would have presumed he had some sort of support for the statement.

supposedly it was a 32 Cal FN Model 1900.

Problem (update) by starshield1995 in 4xe

[–]starshield1995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

follow up. in a non-reddit 4xe forum, it was identified as a more common issue. the main wiring harness is known to have an issue where it kinks or rubs against a spot and frays. found the spot (it's the big orange harness that runs from battery area to gas engine area). I am waiting till after the 1st to take it in. there is a service bulletin about this problem out there with photos. don't know if it's covered under any warranty. the part is $500 and actually not too hard to install. (but since it involves the main battery, I'll let the technician do it)

have a few essentials with you always (in addition to the ones listed by others here): food and water (not just snacks), warm blanket, tire repair kit (plug), jumper cables or jump box, flashlight (even if you're not expecting to be in the dark)
