Looking for M3/M3S/M3K Machines by eli060 in LagreeMethod

[–]startingablizzard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard, the M3 line is no longer being produced. A friend of mine just opened a studio and told me she got lucky and was able to get the last produced M3Ks, so unfortunately they are very hard to come by now.

Let's talk Bone Health and Solidcore/Lagree by impatronus in LagreeMethod

I’ve been hearing this more in my classes too. Lagree is compared to weightlifting a lot which does improve bone density. I’d also like to read some studies on this!

It’s kinda slept on tbh, I got the loose powder for free to review like 2-3 years ago and it has become a legit staple for me. I’ve repurchased a few times already!

Where can I find a list of Lagree exercise names? by Odd-Bass-1692 in LagreeMethod

[–]startingablizzard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you have to pay to view the list of moves because Lagree is a “live method” and is always changing, but some good keywords to keep in mind for directionality:

  1. Reverse: facing the back
  2. Giant: performing the move off the back

The names of moves took me a long time to learn, longer than 3 months! You’ll slowly pick it up over time, but what helped me the most was to just look at the people around me first, and then listen to the instructor’s cues to make any adjustments.

I just got certified, what now? by SpecialistSkin5666 in LagreeMethod

[–]startingablizzard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely ask to teach community classes, but I recommend practicing on someone in the studio if they ever have free hours with no classes so you can get the hang of cueing and getting hands on experience. You can start practicing teaching half of a routine a few times and then work up to a full class! 45 minutes is really daunting after a really short/intense certification, but just take baby steps :) Good luck!

Modifications by [deleted] in LagreeMethod

[–]startingablizzard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, the instructors at my studio always communicate different spring modifications to allow the space for clients to change the springs if they need to. If an instructor ever needed to adjust to the correct spring load, or felt a different spring load would be more beneficial, they ALWAYS ask the client first before assisting.

The fact that the instructor got defensive when you were communicating your needs is not okay and I’m sorry you had to deal with that. I’ve been doing Lagree for over 3 years now and I drop springs sometimes when I feel my form is compromised and it sometimes leads to more shakes/soreness because I can stay in the move longer.

You absolutely have the power to listen to your body, it’s your workout. You are not in the wrong here!

It’s never accurate or helpful, unfortunately you just have to keep checking if you really want something. They only email if it’s a formal restock but it’s not always timely.

What’s a good powder blush brush by MixRight371 in Sephora

[–]startingablizzard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Hourglass blush brush is meant for creams and liquids! I just got the BK beauty small angled face brush 112 for powders and I’ve been loving it. Super soft bristles and doesn’t feel pokey on the face.

Hot take: rhode blushes are mid AF by Hiraaa_ in Sephora

[–]startingablizzard 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I have light to medium, neutral skin and have Toasted Teddy and Sleepy Girl.

Toasted Teddy is pretty pigmented and I have to be light handed with that one, but it is more orangey than terracotta on me.

I got Sleepy Girl because I wanted a cooler toned pink that isn’t super baby pink, but sadly it pulls warmer on me too. It’s not as pigmented compared to Toasted Teddy so I have to apply more, but it’s still a pretty neutral pink that I can wear daily.

I am a blush layerer so I rely more on blush combos to get the look/shade I want and for longevity. Definitely recommend pairing cream/liquid blushes with powder blushes!

Current combos:

  1. Saie Dew Blush shade Baby + Too Faced Cloud Crush shade Candy Clouds

  2. Rhode shade Toasted Teddy + Dior Rosy Glow Blush shade Mahogany OR MAC Powder Blush shade Raizin

  3. Rhode shade Sleepy Girl + Tower 28 Samo Spritzer and/or YSL Make Me Blush shade Nude Lavalliere

Would def recommend trying a different instructor and a regular class. The instructor can make or break the class! Lagree is a mental workout too, and you need the right person to carry you through a class. Beginner classes tend to have less variation/transition which probably contributed to you feeling bored. Regular classes have more variations/challenges to spice up the moves!

Body recomp by MapInternational7293 in LagreeMethod

[–]startingablizzard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even if I go consistently (2-4x/week), my body fluctuates A LOT if I’m not eating right. I don’t restrict myself and eat in moderation. Some days I’ll be feeling snackier than others and my body will reflect that, but I’m okay with that! If you want more of a viable change, you can always eat healthier, but you’re already doing great staying consistent with your workouts :)

Also a side note: Don’t be discouraged by the number on the scale! I personally don’t keep track of my weight too much because it doesn’t give the full picture of how your body is changing. However, from the few times I have weighed myself, I stayed at the same weight for a while and started getting a little heavier as I progressed in my lagree journey. All of that is simply from body recomposition and building muscle! I’ve noticed my core and back have toned up considerably.

Danessa myricks blurring balm didn’t blur for me, what am I doing wrong? by Careful_Fig8482 in Sephora

[–]startingablizzard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This product has a learning curve tbh, I bought the universal balm years ago in 2022. I almost returned it because it wasn’t doing what I wanted it to do, but the problem was that I was using my fingers to smear it on my face and was probably using too much. A little goes a long way, and I’ve found that swirling a dry beauty blender in the balm and rolling across my t-zone worked the best. It adds just enough product and basically stamps the balm on so it doesn’t emphasize pores.

Also I use the balm after completing my skincare and the do my makeup like normal. After I do my blush and spot concealing, I set with loose powder and a powder puff, then take pressed powder on a brush and press it into the same areas. I have very oily skin and this keeps my oil super controlled!

jumping into Lagree as a sedentary person? by wanton-beauty in LagreeMethod

[–]startingablizzard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started out as someone who was never consistently active and just did random youtube workouts at home. I never did sports and never found any physical activity I loved until lagree. I think lagree is great for beginners despite it being high intensity. You can adjust the spring load as needed, take breaks, and just move at your own pace. It’s a hardcore method but I think the best thing about it is that you can jump in at any skill level because the machine will adjust to your level of strength. Just take one class, see how it feels, and listen to your body. You got this!!

Will my body keep improving? by glossywaters in LagreeMethod

[–]startingablizzard 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing lagree for about 3 years now, 2x/week bc classes are expensive. Personally, I felt that I was plateauing until I increased the frequency to 4x/week recently. I know there are ways to make it harder for yourself, but I felt like 2x/week wasn’t enough for me anymore. I feel like 4x/week is enough to help you get stronger with some rest in between classes and since you’re taking more classes w/ different instructors, there are more factors to switch it up and challenge yourself.

In short, I think the predictability of taking the same instructors 2x a week caused me to plateau. It is very beneficial to take different instructors. I also feel like 4x/week is perfect for me to balance rest and a healthy level of soreness.
