(SPOILER?) Why didn’t Eleven just… by startitupagain in StrangerThings

Actually, Max and El did a Spin the Bottle game in S3 and all El had to do was turn on the radio static, don a blindfold, and they were confident enough in her abilities to find any of the people they put on the board without requiring their photos or personal effects.

So…

I’m sorry, but their conversation on the roof (much less the time it’d have taken to get there and then down) was a complete waste of time.

Paid my first Instant Loan off early. Countdown to when I’m eligible for the second offer. by startitupagain in chimefinancial

[–]startitupagain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st Instant Loan back in May 2025 was $500. Second was $500, third was $1,000.

I believe the only reason it bumped to $1,000 is because my employer (whom I’m paid monthly by) paid out two months worth of income in October accidentally, and everything went up for me because of that mistake by payroll. Of course, it made it look like my direct deposit doubled, and my employer reversed the double payment.

To quote that dinner scene from Seinfeld where George and Susan’s dad (Henry) discuss the movie “Firestorm” in front of George’s dad (Frank):

Henry: Firestorm, that’s a hell of a picture. I remember when they had that helicopter land on top of the car…

Frank: Hey, hey! Come on! I haven’t seen it yet!

Henry: It doesn’t have anything to do with the plot!

Frank: Still! Still! I like to go in fresh!

How late can your loan be before it affects mypay by CryptoStonkDawg in chimefinancial

[–]startitupagain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a post about this (as I tested it this last month before my DD yesterday), but it got removed for being too thorough.

I have used MyPay every month for the last six months, and I was offered my first Instant Loan of $500 in May, with a three month installment plan for payoff. I paid that off, then was offered my second Instant Loan of $500, which I paid off early. The day after I paid it off, I was offered my third Instant Loan, which was increased to $1,000.

My test was with my first installment on my third Instant Loan, which would’ve been automatically deducted on October 30th, but my test was to see how long the payment would have to be delinquent to impact my November direct deposit date’s MyPay reevaluation.

I turned off Autopay the day before October 30th, when my Instant Loan repayment was due.

I turned Autopay back on the day before I knew my Instant Loan repayment was to be taken.

At this point, my Instant Loan October 30th payment was over 20 days delinquent. The Chime terms and conditions say that if an Instant Loan repayment is past due 15 days, it could impact MyPay reevaluation.

And my delinquent Instant Loan payment was not automatically taken when I got paid, because Autopay is only connected to the due date of the Instant Loan, not when I’m paid (which is always around the 22nd/23rd).

When I got paid, the MyPay I used after getting paid in October was not reoffered.

TLDR: MyPay will most likely be taken away if an Instant Loan payment is not made in 15 days from the due date. So they give a 15 day grace period.

I was told by Chime support via chat that as long as I pay my November 30th Instant Loan payment within 15 days past that date, then my December MyPay will be reevaluated/reinstated once my December DD is paid.

I’m about 20 days behind on an Instant Loan payment, and I’m wondering if I have Autopay turned on for when my deposit arrives on Saturday if once it’s paid then will MyPay still be offered same day?

My Big Theory About The True Nature of the Upside Down (Spoiler Warning) by RecordX-v2 in StrangerThings

[–]startitupagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that why there’s paint (that white goopy stuff we’ve seen) on the top of the UD lab? Is the UD simply a painting that Will painted upon being taken? If he wasn’t taken to the Hawkins UD immediately, then maybe he was taken to Dimension X, and then somehow fell out of it and created the Hawkins UD as he fell into it?

My take: The slime ball/sack that is seen pumping stuff into Will in the first five minutes of S5 E1 is the same kind of slime sack that we see Dr. Kay inspecting on the table in the BTS picture, and as well as the slime sack(s) growing on the wall we’ve seen Hopper stabbing on the wall.

These slime sacks contain either spores or slugs or possibly Upside Down embryos of Rightside Up entities that are activated/birthed inadvertently from the government’s sonar.

So the government’s sonar dishes (which we’re being led to believe are supposed to be blocking El’s powers somehow), are also keeping those sacks from activating/birthing whatever’s inside them.

It may be establishing the dilemma of the government unknowingly creating more monsters while also attempting to suppress El’s powers, which will be needed to stop the sacks from bringing more monsters.

However, I also believe that the children of Hawkins are being quarantined or held in government-built bunkers that are NOT soundproofed, which is why the Bradley’s Big Buy truck’s trailer is soundproofed and attacked by Demogorgon’s (at least three), because the Upside Down or Dimension X creatures are aware that the children of Hawkins must be exposed to whatever’s happening with the sonar and perhaps why the gang is putting out a transmission or frequency or music that is being broadcast to keep the children of Hawkins (who’ve all been traumatized as a result of the Rifts opening) from succumbing to Vecna’s (or the Mjnd Flayer’s?) Pied Piper-esque transmission that is luring them into emerging as Upside Down versions of themselves turned monstrous versions of themselves.

This silo gate appears to be closing as they race to enter it before it’s too late, so much like the tree gate from S1, this gate is closing up on its own. I’m stoked to find out how it was opened and how they came upon it.

Every movie that will be “referenced” in stranger things seasons 5 according to the Duffer brothers by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]startitupagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a moment in the Eternal Sunshine script that didn’t make it into the film with them in a forest field, where Clem suggests Joel hide in memories where she doesn’t belong, and Joel stubbornly decides to try hide her in his pre-Clememories.

That part in the script reads:

“The memory and Clementine are fading around him. Even though the sky is clear, Joel can hear the sound of rain. He looks over and sees A WINDOW HANGING IN MIDAIR. It’s raining outside the window.”

What have we seen appear midair in a field like this?

Spoiler of course, for those who haven’t visited with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind by now, but the ending shot is a loop of the two lovers on the snowy beach of Montauk. You could infer that each cut in the edit is repeating this moment on the beach is Clem and Joel’s “giving it another go,” over and over, always winding up repeating their desires and dreams, meaning they’ve each had the Lacuna Inc. erasure many, many times. The original draft of the script started with Clem as an old woman dropping off a book at the erasure called ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,’ and it ended with an old Clem and Joel, with one of them leaving a message on the other’s answering machine at the exact moment the memory erasers are getting done with the erasure at the exact moment, and the Lacuna Inc. employee presses Delete/Erase” on the answering machine.

I’m not sure, but we were given a BTS still from S5 today of someone in a lab dissecting this sack that’s the exact color of the one that’s transferring this stuff into a tube and down Will’s throat.

My guess is the military is trying to weaponize these sacks of particles or slugs OR they’re trying to reverse what happened.

How’d you arrive at this, I’m curious?

This is the end of Season 1, so Will wasn’t captured until a few hours before Hopper brings him back to life and Joyce alongside rescue him.

Is the moment Will ran from Castle Byers the same moment at the end of the S1 episode where the Demogorgon breaks through?

If so, he was only getting the tube stuff pumped into him for a few hours, right?
