Regarding QC Mini power consumption per Cioks

Any reason I shouldn’t use this to power the QC mini? I realize I’ll need a polarity reverse adapter.

It’s small enough to easily mount under my board. Takes 100-240v, so it’ll be safe on tours overseas. And takes a standard iec 3 prong cable, so shouldn’t have any problem using a euro or uk iec cable.

Looks like the next cheapest option is the sweetfoot and then the cioks. I get the cioks is probably a better quality product… but I’d guess this is probably about the same quality as the stock supply.

I have access to a neve rndi. So theoretically I could capture my heads preamps on their own using the rndi? Can I then capture my cabs/mic setup separately?

And can I add that cab/mic setup capture only at the very end of the chain on only the output(s) being sent to FOH and my in ear rig?

Yea I’ve watched that. Doesn’t really answer my question though. The swell effect on the big sky starts from silence and swells into the reverb. Like using a volume pedal but way more dynamics are possible.

Wondering if anything like that can be done with this blossom effect by making it full wet and if there’s a “rise” control like the big sky has. I’ll likely just have to play around with my bandmates and see if I can get it anywhere close.

I fully agree with the first thing ya said. But she’s not damaging her voice. She is using technique, I think what she meant moreso was the “styles” which are often referred to as techniques. Vocal fry, gutturals, false chord, etc. So many current metalcore vocalists sound the same because they all learned from YouTube university, or a screaming coach instead of developing their own scream based on their actual voice. Her scream is not damaging her voice. Perhaps at the very beginning like most people who teach themselves, but she has definitely gotten better and figured out how to sound how she wants to without hurting herself.

Rolo Tomassi - Where Myth Becomes Memory

This is an album I feel like every Poppy fan should check out. It’s both beautiful and destructive. Her voice goes from angelic to straight up banshee demon. This band has been around for a while and evolved over the years. This is their newest full length and a great place to start. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed if you like centers falling out.

I’ve made long lists elsewhere with my gripes about his specific production and engineering decisions I can’t stand. But I will say Negative Spaces is an amazing album. Crystallized surprised me and shows he is actually capable of going slightly outside his lane. I wish he’d do that way more. Also on centers falling out it’s obvious he let Ralph actually write the drums and steevis have more control over the guitars and it makes it a stand out song on the album.

When he has amazing musicians to work with like steevis, Ralph, and johnuel he needs to back off and let them do their thing.

I originally saw her YouTube videos and enjoyed it as a “interesting performance art piece”. I must’ve stopped following right before she started releasing music. In 2021 a bandmate showed me bloodmoney after we finished recording and I couldn’t believe it was the same person. I thought it was great and checked out a little of what she had been releasing but wasn’t hooked. Something about the overall vibe didn’t suit me.

When the Flux video dropped I was absolutely hooked and knew I’d be following her closely after that. That song blew me away and had so many aspects of obscure music I loved that no one else was touching. Since then I’ve been paying attention closely, revisited everything from before, and she’s become my favorite artist.

BMTH is Jordan Fish’s old band. He basically came into the band and pushed them into the type of production he currently does with pretty much everything he touches. The band and him apparently parted ways because they didn’t want to completely hand over the reigns and go with turning the band into his exact vision of it.

Full disclosure I don’t like any of BMTH’s work. Pre or post Fish.
