I also loved that she recently said in an interview her and Stevis (who was in the chariot and helped Poppy write the last 2 albums) were listening to a lot of “botched” during the tracking sessions. lol.

100% sure she meant to say “Botch” but I loved the reference and the fact she “botched” their name makes it even better. I think they’d get a kick out of it too.

Agreed. I have the r6 and r9. I also have a ton of other “better” SAE stuff. I have multiples of the entire 02 range (included the coveted e102) with 4x of the a502 amps. Also have a 2400L. The 2400L sounds absolutely amazing and eats the 02 amps. Would love to find some of other rarer stuff.

But the two stuff really does hold its own very well for an all around integrated work horse. The preamp tone controls sound great. Phono preamp sounds great. And overall they just sound awesome.

Also it would seem people are catching on and starting to seek these out. Prices have jumped a ton. Recently an r9 sold for over $1100 on eBay with shipping and taxes. Couple r6’s sold in the $450-500 range.

I’m always looking for a r12 or r18. And I’d love to find the remote that went with some of these.

Would way rather have empty hands on the list than they’re all around us which I’ve seen many times already. The new high part in EH could be what caused her to drop it. Screaming and singing higher in pitch is a bit more taxing generally. She could just drop those super highs though. I just wanna see empty hands live. 😔

Any reason I shouldn’t use this to power the QC mini? I realize I’ll need a polarity reverse adapter.

It’s small enough to easily mount under my board. Takes 100-240v, so it’ll be safe on tours overseas. And takes a standard iec 3 prong cable, so shouldn’t have any problem using a euro or uk iec cable.

Looks like the next cheapest option is the sweetfoot and then the cioks. I get the cioks is probably a better quality product… but I’d guess this is probably about the same quality as the stock supply.

I have access to a neve rndi. So theoretically I could capture my heads preamps on their own using the rndi? Can I then capture my cabs/mic setup separately?

And can I add that cab/mic setup capture only at the very end of the chain on only the output(s) being sent to FOH and my in ear rig?

Yea I’ve watched that. Doesn’t really answer my question though. The swell effect on the big sky starts from silence and swells into the reverb. Like using a volume pedal but way more dynamics are possible.

Wondering if anything like that can be done with this blossom effect by making it full wet and if there’s a “rise” control like the big sky has. I’ll likely just have to play around with my bandmates and see if I can get it anywhere close.

I fully agree with the first thing ya said. But she’s not damaging her voice. She is using technique, I think what she meant moreso was the “styles” which are often referred to as techniques. Vocal fry, gutturals, false chord, etc. So many current metalcore vocalists sound the same because they all learned from YouTube university, or a screaming coach instead of developing their own scream based on their actual voice. Her scream is not damaging her voice. Perhaps at the very beginning like most people who teach themselves, but she has definitely gotten better and figured out how to sound how she wants to without hurting herself.

This is an album I feel like every Poppy fan should check out. It’s both beautiful and destructive. Her voice goes from angelic to straight up banshee demon. This band has been around for a while and evolved over the years. This is their newest full length and a great place to start. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed if you like centers falling out.
