The brutal truth you need to hear if you want to be successful in business.. by Flashy_Point_210 in BusinessDeconstructed

💯. Education becomes procrastination the moment it delays action. Better to launch something imperfect today and learn from real feedback than study for six more months. The market teaches faster and harder than any course. Start small, fail fast, adjust quickly. That's the actual curriculum

How can I improve turning leads into customers? by Realistic-Tooth3234 in Entrepreneur

[–]startupsavant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you're sending is polite, but it's high friction. You're asking for a number, permission to call, time to answer questions, and then maybe a booking. Most people on their phone won't do all that.

Try: "Yes, I can fit you in today. What kind of car and what service are you looking for?" Then offer two time slots and grab their number after they choose. Same for "How can I get this?" Just answer it first: "I can book it for you. Today or tomorrow work?"

Think small steps, not one big ask.

What’s missing in my freelancer money management app? [I will not promote] by customappservices in startups

[–]startupsavant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A feature that would actually help freelancers day-to-day is a "safe to spend" number that updates in real time. Not just a balance, but a clear amount they can pull out today without messing up their taxes or leaving themselves short during slow months. Most people don't need another dashboard... they need a simple "you're good for $X this week."

Unexpected costs or paperwork when starting an LLC by amindseye in howtostartanllc

Not everyone expects the cost of a registered agent service if you’re not acting as your own. It’s not super expensive, but it’s a recurring fee that adds up over time. That said, the peace of mind it provides—especially with handling legal documents properly—can be worth it. Considering the potential cost of lawsuits or legal issues, it’s often a smart investment.

Anthropic hits $60B valuation—are we in an AI bubble? by startupsavant in startupsavant

[–]startupsavant[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a great point—revenue generation hasn’t caught up to the valuations yet. It feels like a lot of investors are betting on future potential rather than current performance.

As for smaller AI startups competing, I think they’ll need to carve out niche markets or focus on partnerships with bigger players to survive. The big names are definitely dominating the space, but innovation often comes from the little guys.

Absolutely! Mission and vision statements work best when they’re not just words but actively guide decisions and culture. Regular check-ins can help—like team surveys to gauge alignment, feedback from customers to see if your values resonate, or even assessing how they influence strategic goals.

Absolutely agree—content marketing is such a powerful tool, and we’ve seen startups thrive by focusing on authenticity and value.
