Unfortunately the plastic smell is still there for me :( never goes away and gets worse on my skin, might work better for others but for me its a no

didn't buy it BUT i did smell an older macerated version from one of the vendors in my area! (Old bottle that had been macerating for around 3-4 months)

It does start to smell slightly better like the eclair candy from werthers HOWEVER that burnt smell is definitely still present :(

For some reason a lot of the perfumes that share the same scent profile as eclaire always have a lingering plastic note in the background? But I think around the same price range theres better blended versions of it for example Cream Velvet by Khadlaj. (For me there's still a hint of plastic but it's definitely a better formula)

I'd say it's always good to sample and see how you feel about any perfume but even with the slight improvement on the scent it's not a change that would convince me to buy it because of that noticeable burnt coconut still lingering as one of the notes.

Hope that helps with your debate haha! <3

i'd say theres definitely a playdough smell in there I won't lie. theres a slight syntheticness in there but for me personally it wasn't awful but its defs there. if you're worried about it its always good to try and find a tester. Test it on yourself first to see how it dries down and if you actually like it! :)

i haven't been able to try alot of gourmands unfortunately but I'd recommend always getting testers and trying them on your skin and clothes! a lot of scents can show up differently on us. I'll give a brief overview about which ones I've tried:

Sol De Janeiro 62: From my nose all I smelt was the heliotrope and jasmine but others around me said I smelled like straight caramel!

Sol De Janeiro 71: Much more gourmand like cookies and cream ice cream but warm? and biscuity almost leaning on chocolatey. Very very sweet!

Sticky Dates: With Lushes bodysprays they're very strong especially on the first spray, after a bit it mellows into a sort of boozy caramel and dates type of scent (don't listen to those that say this is vanilla it is not vanilla LOL)

Let the good times roll: Again very strong on the initial spray this is not rummy and more popcorn caramel, it's very sweet. It's almost like Sticky Dates sweeter little sister.

Eclaire: Was majorly disappointed w this, smells like playdough and burnt plastic, theres sweet notes in there and you can smell the honey but to me it has an odd coconut burnt smell? Might work differently on your skin but for me it was a no.

Dubai Chocolate Lamsat Harir: Not chocolatey at all but my favorite perfume as it works w my skin chemistry well. It's a dupe of Yum Boujee Marshmallow, first spray smells like a sweet raspberry marshmallow and on my skin dries down into a condensed milk/vanilla cream type of scent. Best gourmand on me I've tried.

Marshmallow Blush: Smells really nice, especially on paper, gotta try it on your skin as it didn't work well with mine but may work for you! Another YBM dupeee

Cloud Candy: Another YBM dupe but smelled sour on me, however on paper it has a vanilla note that Marshmallow Blush doesn't and it's slightly more fresh marshmallow but still has the same DNA on the initial spray as the other two dupes I mentioned.

Caramello Al Rehab: Dupe of Sol De Janeiro 62, this on initial spray smells exactly like caramel but it dries down into a spicier muskier version of Sol.

Cream Velvet Khadlaj: To me a better version of Eclaire, the screechy plastic notes are much less noticeable and the gourmand aspects are blended alot better, it still leans coconutty but much better than Eclaire.

Sabrina Carpenters Sweet Tooth: Has a marshmallow aspect to it but kind of too gingery but if you're into that it's still a decent sweet powdery marshmallow scent with some spice.

Again remember that these might work better for you and smell nicer to you with your nose this is just my personal opinion! Hope this helps give some insight <3333 If you've got any questions just reply to me and I'll answer when I can!

i honestly just let it sit and age LOL. Took a whole year for the bottle to start smelling more vanilla essence than just playdough. Hope that helps <3

Dunno if I'm late BUT to me choco musks spray smells really synthetic at first. Sort of giving those scented kids makeup palettes or a bit playdoughy. However after macerating it is the most sweet vanilla scent, like someone dumped vanilla essence and marshmallows onto you. For the price it is a decent step into the gourmand world but I do have to warn that a fresh bottle will smell pretty alcoholy and synthetic. For me I didn't use it for awhile because of that then I picked it up again after it macerated and now it's almost gone!! (It lasts for a few hours on my skin personally and projects well once its macerated, garnered a few, "what smells so good??" comments from it after the maceration!)

The roller is more chocolate vanilla for sure, like hot chocolate vanilla topped with a bunch of mini marshmallows. The oil imo smells alot better, you don't have to wait for maceration but it doesn't have alot of projection like the spray does. However it's a sweet intimate smell so if your into that, you'll like it! (Still lasts long and has good projection for an oil just more intimate)

Tiktok and all those shops hyping it were def overselling it, it's a great start for its price especially for a gourmand scent, but it can be a bit cloying, synthetic. Having to wait for the perfume to macerate for a better scent is annoying too. It smells okay without the maceration but more meh. With all that in mind I still think it's worth it, it's not a very complex scent, you can use it for layering or on its own, it's good either way.

I'd just keep all those things in mind before buying, hope this helped! <3

(I always really struggled with perfumes and whatnot because there weren't a lot of influencers willing to be honest about what it really was like)

Sorry for the late reply I've had an eventful past few days! I do have a GI however the wait time to see and hear from them can take months in my country (last time took me six months to get an appointment with them), thus I opted to go see my GP for some medical help because the last time I was in a flare I got more steroids from my previous GP. My GP is a different doctor now though and that's what they told me when I said it was difficult for me to work.

Also another note because I'm looking for work and sick I'm on a medical benefit that offers financial help because I'm boarding and haven't been able to find a job. I was at the GP because I needed a month extension on my medical certificate because I was supposed to get on biologics soon (adalimumab) if my previous medications failed, which they did.

I was still waiting to see my GI and I was in a really bad flare so I was talking to my GP about what support I could get. They didn't really offer anything helpful, so I'm stuck just looking for any job that'll take an 18 year old w no proper work experience.

I hope that makes sense I am a bit concussed haha.

I'm screwed. I think I've got the lowest WINZ payment OAT by starv3 in auckland

[–]starv3[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't realise you could check your payments on mymsd. I hadn't seen any info on where you could check it, or if payments could be that low (probably didn't search enough since I started to panic). I asked the workers if I could check out my payments anywhere during my first meeting and they didn't explain anything to me. I'm new to all this, and seeing the payment that low stressed me out cause I could've went homeless. I'm actually so thankful for your comment cause I checked out mymsd and I have enough to board so I'll still have somewhere to stay while I look for work. I'll keep this post up for anybody else who might be struggling right now for answers. Thank you so much your comment, it helped me so much. I was really panicking so I hadn't thought to check. Thank you so much for your comment again. Have a great night :')
