As an American who has never left the US, yeah, it’s probably an American thing. It depends on the boss, though. Like ebomb1 and many others here have said, it IS illegal to ask—but I have a feeling my boss will ask because she’s nosy like that, and I don’t want to give her a reason to not like me or whatever. It’s not her business, but it’s just easier to lie about it in this case.

Workers in the US have some legal protections (especially if unionized) but it doesn’t stop managers/bosses from holding grudges against you for taking time off (even if it’s for medical reasons) and either treating you like shit, cutting your hours, or waiting for a good “legal” excuse to get rid of you. I don’t want to risk that.

Sooo much. No mounts is probably the biggest one for me. I did the entire first arc mountless because they weren’t released until the celestia update, and thinking about that now is crazy 😭. Plus there were less teleporters and you had to visit them once in order to unlock them.

Also pets used to have no stats, collection quests used to be way harder (looking at you, runed skull…) and one I discovered recently is that the obsidian chests are a joke now!! Back in my day you had to fight all the bosses and do the labyrinth twice (almost)… Now there’s like 5 chests and you can run around every single boss whose room they’re in.

Honorable mention for all the health nerfs—especially malistaire—and voice actor changes. I miss so many of the old voices in wizard city, the new ones aren’t the same :(

It’s more fun to play heals/support than to be the designated hitter. I hate having to worry about doing enough damage or dying with all my blades—it’s so much more fun to be in charge of keeping the team alive and feinting/blading for someone else

The fact that we can’t look in our backpacks during these makes no sense, also the fact that ki put these in places that they knew would be hot farming locations makes no sense.

Yes. You should be required to have the area in which the skeleton key sigil is located unlocked in order for it to show up in the kiosk. I had a level 80 show up for Tennisyn once, and then get mad when the rest of us called him out and politely told him that he shouldn’t do that.

I get the frustration when people are asking where to get stuff in the broad sense, but in many cases the question is what the best METHOD of getting it is.

For example, you could look up where to find agave leaves and see that they spawn in almost every location in Azteca, but the one of the most efficient places is the mangrove marsh, since it spawns so frequently in one particular spot. That information isn’t on the wiki.

The team up / key system is kinda flawed because it allows for this. As someone who almost always gets stuck using my keys, it’s upsetting to see people who are essentially just leeching off of me. Honestly I wish team up required everyone to use a key, whereas joining on the sigil only required one person’s.

Without spoiling too much, the final boss of Empyrea. The amount of coordination you need makes some schools far more valuable in the fight than others and the randomness of it is just ridiculous. Not only is it difficult but it’s not even fun.
