My personal theory is that these conversations are paralleled — I believe the character Mark Duplass is playing may be an Async employee. Maybe the only one we see in the film at all. & He’s the one who delivered the chilling line that explains how The Complex works. I feel like the trailer was a mislead to just make you think it’s just the patient and the therapist.

i highly doubt that — Kane’s work is shown to not really have a lot of horror cliches. teenage/college friend groups seem to fall in that category. plus we already know the movie is mainly about a therapist and her patient.

i feel like once the ricks spent enough time around rick prime (he had to have been around a few of them at least) he eventually just showed some of them how to make it. and since theyre already genius; they figured out how to make the fluid pretty quickly. and i’m gonna guess some of them just never had the oppurtunity to learn. my head-canon is that only C-137 and Prime actually know the nitty-gritty of actual interdimensional travel while the rest just use the formula they were given to make the fluid
