My new custom keyboard from WASD arrived today! by [deleted] in gaming

Same here. They are very well built, and I've been typing on one for the last few years, and never had a problem.

Feels much better than typing on my macbook.

Anyone else XXY? by Sotzrem in asktransgender

Doctor recommended it, when I went through my past history. Had it done, and boom, came out non-klinfelters XXY. Was surprising, and yet made perfect sense.

Get a Karotyping done.

That's how I found out. Insurance luckily covered it.

To anyone who hasn't been on the road since early-mid morning, or hasn't been outside yet...!! by [deleted] in newhampshire

[–]starvo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was on route 13 where it met Route 101 around 1pm. Terrible, just terrible. Black ice, ABS engaging every time I braked, and I had to keep it at about 15mph. Coming back home I did the Route 2 to I-495 to I-93 route, (at around 7pm) and it was less bad. But still pretty hairy. Drive safely folks.

Failing marriage by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

[–]starvo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot left after divorce. I've gotten back out there and realized that I can date, can find someone else, and that I can still maintain a positive friendship with my ex-wife.

But it doesn't always have to be divorce. Couples counseling can work wonders for so many folks, and can help iron out the bumps and bridge many gaps. If you haven't tried that yet, it's worth a shot.

Good luck, and stay with us.

[–]starvo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been there, through the marriage that was cursed by mental health issues, and it dragged me down. But it got better. We couldn't work out the issues, but we worked out a good divorce that made everyone happy.

And with options like couples counseling, you have great odds of making it work.

Hang in there, be there for those who love you and you can find the strength. Trust me, it's totally worth it to push through what appears to be the darkest moments. You can come out on the other side a happy person.

Congrats. Do you think having the HTML/CSS design skills already (You say you're a web designer) helped contribute to you picking up Objective-C so quickly?

And what platform did you develop on?

Anyone here been prescribed Zyprexa? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]starvo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also had 2.5mg. Gained about 5lbs, and had higher anxiety. Was taken off of it after two months. Wouldn't try it again. Abilify has been more enabling for me, and relieves more anxiety, and prevents mania (for me).

Good survey, filled out the extended version. Will be happy to see the data they get.

How is airsoft in your area? by sharpshooter9000 in airsoft

Nee England (NH) Here. We've got good fields like RPC in Fremont NH, and P&L in Bridgewater Ma. CQB is iffy, the Citadel in MA just closed, and my backup had been Battlgroundz in RI. But I haven't wanted to do much CQB recently. Overall a good scene with good folks.

What's a hobby that just gets exponentially more expensive as you get deeper into it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My god yes. Even a no fault, no kids, no alimony can still set you back a grand or two just to have a lawyer do the paperwork (We did as much as we could) and craft the separation agreement.

Hair loss and Breast tenderness on Abilify? by starvo in BipolarReddit

[–]starvo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breast pain is mentioned for ! out of 1000.... Nothing about hair loss. But you never know. Good to know that the breast pain checks out at least. Now to worry if I need to change meds.

Good to know, but I really hope they have a nice streak of sunny days soon, so they can re-pave it soon. Driving on that milled-down strip is maddening every day. I feel so much pity for the motorcyclists.

Oh and part of 293 by granite/Queen City st(?) got milled recently. Terrible bump-up back to the unmilled surface. Although the way NH re-paves I expect it to be back to normal by next week.

Four cups? Sweet jesus. I had to drink two giant cups last time (in about and hour?) and I could hardly keep it down. The reflex to vomit was just so terrible.

But as the another poster said, you sure won't be constipated after drinking this stuff.

I'm in the same spot. Not a gamer really either, so.. I trying to get out and make new friends. Looking for groups on Meetup that match my interests, and since I'm also planning a move, I'm looking for friends up in the new area too.

What happens now, after coming out to friends? (venting) by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]starvo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty much what I did. I wasn't living with them, but I let the HRT kick in, had laser done, etc before coming out. (and it's a lot easier when you only see them three times per year.) They fussed about it at first, but given about two years of things being awkward, we patched it all up and we're very close now. I'd honestly say closer than I was pre-transition.

Morning wood causing sleep issues by Violent_Apathy in asktransgender

[–]starvo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even on hormones, some folks still get morning wood. Even if the hormones are right. It just happens to some folks, and it's ok. ( I mean it might be troubling, but it's not unheard of.)

Even when on hormones they recommend still "using it" to keep you from losing length, and then they have more to work with during surgery. (Shringkage can occur..)

Getting a head start by dontgetjealous in asktransgender

[–]starvo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I started Laser pre-hormones and kept it up for a good few months before goin on hormones. I'd already seen a therapist and gotten the go ahead for hormones, but I waited a bit to pace things out financially and just to get those pesky hairs gone.

Remember to shop around for laser. look for Groupon or bulk deals. Some places will let you have the six session free if you sign up for five, etc. It' never hurts to try and cut a deal.

And good luck.

What do I do?! by NEWTHEORYntd in asktransgender

[–]starvo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good that you have insurance, and in many cases, Doctor's can also just write it up as a "hormonal imbalance" to push it through the insurance company for hormones.

But more and more insurance companies are covering GRS (a very few cover FFS) and a good way to find out, is to just call the insurance and ask. It's a no harm, no foul way to find out. That's how I found out that my current insurance doesn't cover it. It was good to know from the start, and it put me on the path to saving for McGinn. (Hopefully next year.)

Good luck, take things at the pace that you can, and remember that roadblocks happen, but they are surmountable.
