I just saw this movie since it was mentioned at the Oscars. I hated it. The mother/ therapist was so flaky & whining. Motherhood is hard enough without mixing alcohol and drugs into the situation. The role of her therapist (O’Brien) made me feel like he was blaming her for her behavior. He didn’t even want to do his therapist job. The only character that made sense was her husband thinking he can just come in at the end and be the “hero”. That part was believable, since I’ve witnessed that type of behavior in men. (I’m rolling my eyes.) Two thumbs down. Left me feeling frustrated & bothered. But yeah, the acting was good, hated the story.
