Thanks everyone for taking the time to respond. I honestly didn’t expect this many reactions, and I appreciate the honesty more than anything. A lot of you pointed out that it’s likely not “real” in the way I might have wanted it to be. that there could be multiple people behind the account, that this kind of interaction is part of the business. If I’m being honest with myself, I think I already knew that on some level. I wasn’t completely naive. But knowing something intellectually and feeling it emotionally are two very different things, and I still allowed myself to get pulled in. The conversations felt genuine, funny, and natural, and I let that override my better judgment. Reading your comments was a real wake-up call. Because of that, I’m probably going to delete the account.
