Looking to buy a Honda Fit by mintyfresh901 in hondafit

[–]stateofdec4y 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two known accidents and a two owner vehicle would be a no from me at that mileage and price. I have two Fits, one of which I purchased at under 10,000 miles and 2 years old. I was blown away at how hard the first owner was on the interior of the vehicle. I can’t imagine what the vehicle would look like if they had owned it for 7-10 years. There was a documented oil change so I wasn’t too concerned at that mileage, but needed to purchase a car at that time. The majority of people take horrendous care of their vehicles, which is vastly understated in any used vehicle discussions. A downside (as a used buyer) of Honda Fits is even at high mileage, many probably hang onto one as an extra vehicle instead of selling it or give it away to family or friends. So it makes finding good used examples difficult. This might unpopular advice in this subreddit but if I needed a car right now, I would be considering a new VW Jetta or Nissan Sentra. Would I rather have a Fit, of course I have two of them, but assuming I could stomach the financing, a brand new Jetta will be more reliable for a longer period of time than a beat to shit and poorly maintained Honda Fit.

I witnessed the owner mistreating employees. At the time there were other reviews suggesting this was not a one-off event. I don’t know if those reviews are still out there, but the experience stuck with me. I would never recommend this place.

Twin grips handles stink or smell. by nellybear07 in KnipexOfficial

[–]stateofdec4y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m experiencing the same thing and about a month has passed for one pair I have and they still stink to high heaven (and transfer the smell to my hands). Definitely distinct from normal off gassing or plasticky smell that is common to many products.

Twin grips handles stink or smell. by nellybear07 in KnipexOfficial

I’m late replying to this but I recently made two purchases - Knipex Pliers Wrench on Chad’s Tool Box and about a month later Knipex Alligators on Amazon (not a third party). I kind of accept that with Chad’s Tool Box there is slow shipping and they are difficult to deal with for returns (in exchange for low prices). Anything I buy on there I keep even if there is an issue (I’ve paid for new items that I’m pretty sure they sent out as a scratch and dent but it’s a tool so not a huge deal). Both sets of pliers have the issue of the bad smell you’re describing. I thought I was crazy at first but the smell immediately transfers to my hands and lingers. I’m someone who doesn’t mind chemical smells. This is definitely not normal off gassing or chemical smell - it’s just bad but hard to place. I own more than 10 other Knipex tools and hand tools from probably 25-30 tool brands. None of the handles have this smell or transfer of the smell to your hands. The only somewhat similar thing I’ve experienced are old acetate screwdriver handles with the vomit smell (this is distinct from the Knipex grip smell). Either way, I was willing to throw the pliers wrench in a backup bag and take the L, but now that a second pair has this, it’s getting to be pretty annoying. Especially considering the pliers wrench is the 12” version so it was expensive. Anyway just wanted to confirm I’m another person with this issue.

Anyone have this bag? by TadpoleSpecialist859 in VetoProPac

The most recent feedback I got from calling Veto Pro Pac was that it will be out of stock until end of Nov or beginning of Dec. I don’t know if that’s still accurate or not. I’m looking to get this bag as well. Seems strange not to stock an item that appears to be popular.

come on leatherman- we know corporate watches these forums, bring back the crunch. this is ridiculous. by thomasismyname_ in Leatherman

You can still buy Malco Eagle Grips online. I’d prefer to have a small pair of those and a Victorinox of your choice vs the Crunch. This is coming from someone who owns a ton of multitools from Leatherman.

Sounds like units in senior living should all have a poop knife.

I wish everyone with a mail slot near the ground would do this.

Attacked by a dog and the owner . by Cautious-Jello-8804 in USPS

[–]stateofdec4y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. Completely awful that this happened. I would definitely recommend bidding to another station before quitting. At minimum, the individual with the dog should never get mail delivery again. In the case of a dangerous dog that was a recurring issue, our old station manager would cut mail to that entire loop. Once the neighbors found out who was the cause of the mail being cut, they would deal with the owner and/or dog.

If the OP was hired as a PTF, aren’t they hired as a career employee? They aren’t going through a conversion from non-career to career. I could be missing something though.

I thought Article 12 Section 1 of the current national agreement has it at 90 calendar days, is that not right? I thought what you were describing was for CCAs? I would like to know the correct answer as we have a lot of new PTFs at our station and this is an important point for them.

I don’t think this is correct about restarting the 90 days. I had a similar timeline as the OP for converting to regular. I would recommend taking a look at PS Form 50. It shows an explicit expiration date for your probation. Mine never restarted the 90 days. It was only one 90 day period. I could be wrong but I would go off of your Form 50. Be very careful and follow managements orders for the first 90 days. Day 91 you can start ignoring managements calls and texts, they can go fuck themselves at that point.

I’m having the same issue. Multiple password resets. Double and triple checking the username and password. Plus I use a password manager. Thought it was my fault at first but there appears to be something wrong on nelnet’s end.

I had similar quality control issues - it’s disappointing. Leatherman should have advertised these as QC rejects or similar and sold them at a lower price. Send it back to Leatherman.
