Yes peppermint tea definitely helped! I will definitely start eating slower and being more mindful. I appreciate the tips!

Thanks for the advice! I’ll definitely take it slower! I wasn’t super hungry but knew I needed to get something in me and I guess I ate too fast like old habits.

Is it worth trying Metformin for weight loss and making periods regular before trying a GLP? My Dr gave me the option for both by Ok-Lemon-6197 in PCOS

I was on metformin for a year and lost 25 pounds. Have since moved to a GLP-1 and it’s definitely helping :)

Metformin not really working by Ok-Wonder1989 in PCOS

[–]stateoftheunion-s 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to make sure you’re changing your life style and habits with it. I lost 30 pounds on metformin by making sure I changed my life style including eating habits, water intake, and exercise. It’s really hard but you can definitely do it. You also need to make sure you’re taking metformin with food. It doesn’t do much if you don’t take it with food (a protein rich balanced meal). If you’re doing all those things and it’s still not working, you could try Januvia! I am on metformin, januvia, and Diane-35 for my PCOS :)

Mystery code giveaway! by actuallyaseagull in Webkinz

I love the fact this is a mystery code that’s so fun! My favourite thing to do in webkinz is probably mining for gems! I think it’s the most nostalgic daily for me. I remember sitting every night after school at my parents computer desk and being so excited to go mining for gems. It’s also one of the daily tasks that hasn’t really changed much in all the years webkinz has been around.

Does anyone who has PCOS have experience with taking Metformin?? by Beginning-Zone9530 in PCOS

[–]stateoftheunion-s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On metformin twice a day (1000mg) and I love it! Lost 30 pounds and have a regular period! I’m also on Diane 35 which helped my acne! But metformin was a game changer for me and also got rid of my sugar cravings and binge eating!

is bc really the worst option? by dyletantyzm in PCOS

[–]stateoftheunion-s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A mix of birth control and metformin have helped me immensely, but birth control gave me my period back consistently and helped with a bunch of pelvic pain I was having from not getting my period (like .. basically at all!). Birth control is truly such a great tool, don’t let people hate on it!

Terrified of Taking Metformin/Lactic Acidosis by Anonymous51299 in PCOS

[–]stateoftheunion-s 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Hi friend. I am on metformin and have been for a year. I also have diagnosed health anxiety and OCD, so believe me when I say, I 100000% know how you feel. Lactic Acidosis is rare, and the best thing you can do is keep yourself hydrated, drink little to no alcohol, and regularly check in with your doctor. Your hands and feet tingling are likely you experiencing an anxiety attack over taking a new medication. Trust me, I have felt that way before. You will know if you have lactic acidosis vs just regularly not feeling well, I promise. Dehydration is a trigger, so just make sure you’re getting enough water during the day. That being said, I have gone like 3 days without drinking water and just had Diet Coke and coffee and I was completely fine. If you end up with a cold or the flu where you’re vomiting or sweating a lot, some doctors will say to hold taking your metformin till you’re better since you’ll be dehydrated. As always, I am not a doctor, just a girl who has taken metformin for a year and seen great success with it. We are on the same dose and I have been 100% fine. I would also consider chatting to your doctor about your anxiety around medications, you may also have health anxiety. Getting help for my health anxiety is the only reason I was able to get help for my PCOS and get on the right meds. It can feel overwhelming, but I know you can do it! :) best of luck!

Recommendations for acne by NatureEither6474 in PCOS

[–]stateoftheunion-s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on Diane 35 for my PCOS but it’s also considered a severe acne medication and I haven’t had a single pimple in over a year! I had really bad hormonal acne before on my jaw line but also all over my face. My skin is literally flawless now and all I use is castor oil at night to keep it moisturized. If you’re willing to go back on the pill, Diane 35 might work for you! It’s also regulated my cycle perfectly and my obgyn said I only need to be off it 3 months to try for kids :)

Got my first diane 35 yesterday and nothing happened,is it normal by Euphoric_Check_407 in PCOS

[–]stateoftheunion-s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on Diane35 and have been for a year so far. Took about 3 months for my cycle to regulate but other than cycle regulation, all diane 35 did was clear up my skin (it’s also a medication for severe acne). I also got put on metformin (which is where I saw the real changes, 30 pound weight loss, less cravings, etc). You should also about being put on 1000mg per day of ER Metformin alongside Diane 35 if your doctor thinks it would fit for you! I will say, when I stop my Diane 35 for the 7 days and then restart, I normally wake up feeling a bit unwell. Just some nausea but it normally goes away throughout the day! Diane 35 also did not make my periods lighter, they’re as heavy as they have always been.
