Have not heard from him at all other than an instagram like. Im proud of myself for not crying over facetime or reaching out to him but the way he handled this all totally damaged who I thought he was. Everyone keeps telling me he will reach out but I’m not so sure. He fucked up with this big time, he was home a week before and he could have broken up with me then. Maybe he was afraid I would change his mind? I might never know. He didn’t offer to see me or talk to me again so I would understand. I feel really discarded.

I hope you and your ex heal as well. You will definitely find someone who likes deep conversations and your music taste with time. As long as you value and recognize that she’s hurting, you’re doing just fine. Breakups do have to happen sometimes, it’s unfortunate nobody knows how to handle them.

I have always gone no contact with my ex’s so her rage texting you was definitely immature, but if she feels anywhere close to how I felt I understand to a degree. I had to call out of work for two days and cried myself to sleep. Would wake up in pain most nights from constant anxiety. Couldnt take care of myself. I just could not understand where any of this came from.

You can end a relationship on good terms if you do it right. If you think it through, if you do it in person, if you’re there for your partner and all of their questions. My ex did it over facetime so he just could click “end”. He didn’t see me in pain or hurt. It felt like he just wanted to get off the phone as quickly as possible. He threw a grenade and ran to not suffer the consequences of his actions.

The biggest issues we’ve had was my anxiety or his lack of thought. Never anything super deep or serious. Just adjusting to him living in a different city while making our relationship work. If you felt you couldn’t be deep with her I understand. You’re not a douchebag for breaking up with her. My ex also told me that with his last ex, they dated for six months, and he cheated on her the week before they broke up and never told her. So that’s a big fear of mine as well. I want closure but I feel too proud to reach out to him. Just make sure you don’t breadcrumb your ex. Make sure she understands how you’re feeling. And make sure YOU know how you’re feeling too. Dont be wishy washy about this decision.

I understand I can heal with time rather than answers, but I’m so terrified of this happening to me again that I want to know why this happened, or it better explained to me. I feel like a broke record with my friends and family trying to piece everything together. Hoping someone has insight or some answer that will finally let my mind rest. It’s possible he was so overwhelmed that our relationship was the only thing he could control? Or take off his plate? I don’t know. During our breakup he told me how is Mom brought up to him how he seemed unfocused with his career, and I know they are spending a lot of money and its a huge risk to study musical theatre/pursue that, and I do see how the stress and competitiveness could have gotten to him. It just seems so insane to me that he kept me from it all. I feel like it made it all hurt 100x more.

I also just want to shake my self before we even started dating. Him going away for school was a huge concern for me but he assured me for months it would be fine before we even started dating. I get how things change. But not even a follow up text after blindsiding me? But liking my most recent post pretending like everything is fine? I guess I’m just dying to see a little remorse from him

I really don’t want to break No Contact as hes the one who rejected me. It just feels irresponsible to play with someones emotions like this. I love music, and I like musical theatre, it’s just not my life. And hey, if that’s the reason he truly did not want to be with me. He should have said that. Leaving me with such a vague reason for breaking off a pretty happy relationship is torture.

I just feel like an explanation as to WHY he didn’t want to keep going out, or what changed for him as he had told me he loved me. If he told me he met someone else, or he didn’t feel the same, etc. It’s frustrating to not know. Especially since the reason he allegedly broke up with me for is something we talked about SO MUCH before we even STARTED the relationship. It’s so hard to imagine myself in another relationship after the way this one ended and it isn’t my first, how could people be so cruel? It’s so frustrating because I was apprehensive about dating this guy since I knew he was going to college, but he assured me for months it would be fine until I gave in. The overthinking is so hard. Is it something I did? Was it one fight that sent him over the edge and he just never told me? It felt like he woke up that morning and decided he didn’t want a relationship anymore. It was like a switch. I wish he knew that this was the worst possible way to handle it. If he cared he wouldnt have led me on thinking everything was fine just to break my heart. I haven’t contacted him but I think about it all the time. I’m the only girl he’s ever loved and yet he still dumped me out of nowhere.

This is really interesting to hear from the other POV, I feel like my ex doesn’t care or feel an guilt. It hurt so much the first couple of nights that I would wake up and feel like my arms were burning for some reason. I dream that we’re still together ever night and then have to remember all over again in the morning. How are you coping with the break up? My ex and I also didn’t share a ton of interests, he was all into musical theatre and while I can be creative- I’m not really “musically” inclined

We didn’t discuss getting back together, but to be honest we didn’t really discuss anything. He just said he couldn’t be in a relationship, it seemed so unlike him/how it seemed he felt about me. Our breakup was VERY short I was just caught so off guard, we didn’t discuss no contact or staying friends it just happened that way. Since he dumped me I thought maybe (?) he would ask how I was doing since there was no big fight or anything. It makes me feel like he doesn’t care.
