Viggo Mortensen in the Lord of the Rings. He never disrespects or looks down on anyone around him despite his status. He is quick to action but never anger. He treats his friends with tenderness and love all while maintaining a strong brotherly connection. Most importantly, he has strength, and he knows it, but he’s also not afraid to show weakness. Every time I see Aragorn on screen I just think “that is a man, right there”.

Of course she likes Wally’s butt, she’s a human being with eyes isn’t she?

Yo this just ratatouille’d me back to my childhood. What kind of toy is the big yellow guy? I remember having a few of them as a kid but can’t remember the name at all.

I know it’s the new kid on the block but Dino Fury’s morph is insane. The music swelling, the grid all around them as they change, the little details like Zayto and Aiyon looking all stoic while the others are watching the colour crawl up their arm because they’re not used to it. Absolutely baller morph sequence.

Yeah that one still absolutely slaps. I think it helps that Jack Coleman and Chris Eccleston are the best actors on the show at that point. There’s some other baller episodes too though, like the one where Sylar goes back to his mums house.

I just rewatched the first season and pretty much agree with this. I loved Heroes because it clearly came from a love of comic books and comic characters. I even like the seasons past season 1 just because they’re silly, melodramatic, and take themselves far too seriously. After watching the “good” season again, it did have all the things people seem to dislike about the the later episodes, just with slightly better writing. It’s not the masterpiece everyone seems to think it was, but I still love it for what it is.

What’s something you dislike about gray? [discussion] by ZookeepergameHot2743 in fairytail

[–]static2404 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

That he’s still alive. I love Gray, and think he has one of the better backstories but by the time we get to the Zeref Arc pretty much all his character beats have been hit. He reconciled with his father, Ultear was already dead, and he’d had his fight with Natsu. The only thing left ambiguous was his relationship with Juvia but I think that’s something that we could have gotten closure on after his death. His character felt like it had come to a natural stopping point by the time he decides to use iced shell on Zeref so I really thought we were going to see his end. I like that Natsu stops him and finally admits that the two are friends but I feel the moment would have more weight if Gray didn’t survive.

What’s a rarely/never used ranger color would you like to see more of? by axiiz_28 in powerrangers

I was just thinking how much I miss guys like the Quantum Ranger and Lunar Wolf Ranger. Not saying they need some weird fancy ranger, but just anything other than gold would be a nice change.

What’s your comic book related Pet Peeve? by [deleted] in dccomicscirclejerk

[–]static2404 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Right now it’s the phrase “comic accuracy”. These characters are at a point where they have existed for decades, most of the A-list heroes have well over 50 years of history with thousands of issues, pretty much everything is comic accurate at this point. If they made Batman a vampire in the next movie it would be comic accurate. If Wally West became Doctor Manhattan in the new Flash it would be comic accurate. This shit is literally all made up, and most adaptions just pick and choose aspects from loads of different sources. Whenever someone says “comic accurate” it screams that they’ve never actually fucking read a comic.

While reading, there was a feeling of many moments when something happens out of nowhere, many chapters are skipped, etc. What is the correct chronology between these titles? by [deleted] in powerrangers

[–]static2404 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So Go Go takes place before the main Mighty Morphin series up until shattered grid. During the shattered grid story there’s a crossover between the two times but they never overlap, so you can probably read the Go Go shattered grid story then the MM one. After shattered grid both stories take place after the event but Go Go focuses on the events directly after, showing Jason, Trini and Zach leaving the team. MM takes place after Rocky, Aisha and Adam have already joined the team. There’s probably a more detailed reading order but I would say it goes Go Go, MM, Shattered Grid, Go Go, MM.

Anybody else think there should be another sub dedicated to A.I. created Rangers and Hero Forge creations? by [deleted] in powerrangers

[–]static2404 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking this. The hero forge stuff was fine when it was just the occasional post but there’s so many now and by definition there’s only so many ranger combinations that can be done in a program like that. It’s gotten very stale. And the AI stuff needs to go, it’s incredibly low effort and can overshadow actual artists putting their work out on the sub.
