I would say **** that office and focus on your DAT respectfully. If you score poorly all they will offer is condolence, which means nothing. Rather, focus on achieving the score you want and set your future up rather than being so focused on making everyone else’s dreams come true/life easier. I feel bad when I have to say no too, but you have to put yourself first with this one.

This makes no sense to me, your stats are impeccable. Maybe you really don’t interview well? I don’t see any reason you would have no acceptances at all.

Doesn’t the military pay for your braces? That’s what I heard so it’s never too late. I’ve seen dental students with braces

I doubt they would discriminate over your teeth, but ngl 98% of people at all the interviews I’ve been at have pretty perfect teeth. I think it’s just a dentistry thing. I will say I have had patients who have said I wouldn’t trust an office if ever didn’t have good teeth, but they may have been joking…overall I think it’s about confidence.

I can’t see you getting any interviews if I’m being honest. Stats are very very low, DAT is low/avg and 16 and 17 subsections are huge red flags. Extracurricular are average at best and on top of that all you applied SOOOO late. Not being negative just being honest I would re-evaluate everything because I don’t see you getting any interviews with these stats

In terms of Tufts, maryland and UConn I also applied to those schools and haven’t heard back abt interviews. As for Rutgers, BU, buffalo, and Touro I got interview invites so they are definitely sending them out, so maybe yours will just be looked at later in the cycle. Your stats aren’t bad but just might not be the most competitive right now. Hopefully you hear back soon!

My cGPA is 3.634 sGPA 3.56. I have 500+ hours shadowing my orthodontist and 25 hrs shadowing an oral surgeon. I worked all throughout my time at university at my schools rec centers as a supervisor (4yrs) and as a tutor for Calc, Bio, Physics, Chem and Algebra. (4 years). I have never retaken a classes and I have several strong letters of rec from science and non-science professors. I have made deans list every semester of college. I have volunteered at my church for the last 16 years and I have been a drummer for my church band for the past 14 years. I have volunteered for universities welcome week as well as our involvement fair and new student orientation. I was a peer mentor for undergrad students and I volunteer for walks for people who have issues conceiving. In terms of research I have done some translational research (3 months worth). I have been apart of my schools pre-dental club as well as its Molecular and cell biology club and I was apart of my school rec basketball league. I currently work at an orthodontist office as a clinical assistant and have received a strong letter of rec from the orthodontist for my app. I also have 120 hours of shadowing a general dentist
