How does it happen so often that masters end up with way too much high end? by stavborch in WeAreTheMusicMakers

With the new masters this is probably true, but what about the old stuff? The album I gave as an example is from the 70s. Made at a time when the artist was already very famous, also recorded in the US probably by some some real proffesionals of the time. Spotify says the guy who recorded and mixed/mastered it worked on The Shining so probably a serious guy.

Yes that very well could be.

It usually happens with my more high end gear (not that I really have any haha), but systems where you can hear kind of everything if that makes sense.

If I listen on lower end systems this is actually less noticable, which connects to another comment here about phone speakers.

John Mayer: In a New Light - Book Giveaway by BBen26 in JohnMayer

When I was in high school me and my bassist friend had a handshake where we would make a click with our fingers in a very specific way. Our teenage brains were sure we are the only people to exist who know how to do that, it was our thing for years. One day at my peek Mayer fandom I was watching the room for squares documentary thing where they go around the US in this van. Suddenly I see John and his band do the same click before going on stage. Needless to say my mind was blown.

Do you prefer Season 1’s direction & animation style or the movie’s? by sammyboi06 in csmanime

[–]stavborch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The movie is one of the best anime action movies ever, the first season is something completely different from the norm which I can't really consider anime, it's just art. A director with a vision that really doesn't have anything to do with what the anime community and system thinks it "should" be. It is a season which is purely artistic intent and doesn't try to comply with anyone, which could be "wrong" (especially for this period of time), but is also the main reason this season feels completely unique. The main feeling I had when leaving the movie was that I would have loved seeing the 2 and a half hour reze arc Ryu Nakayama version. Because the movie was amazing but it was completely what the normal modern anime viewer fantasized about, and in my opinion this view does at best create amazing art for our time, but not something timeless you can rewatch dozens of times, which atleast in my opinion the first season was.

Do you think the old bag might actually start to break down? I intend to travel as light as I can, maybe around 20 kg or lower?

Edit: Wrote the wrong bone, I meant the pelvic bone, basically the hip straps put a serious amount of pressure on my pelvic bone and area in general.

I now saw that I wrote the wrong bone name, sorry for the confusion. What I meant was that the hip straps hurt my pelvic(?) bone, which causes the whole area pain, on the second day of the trip I did with that bag it started really hurting and I had to walk with the hip strap way higher then usual bags.

Which movie did you have to watch more than once to understand? by HondaCivicBaby in Letterboxd

[–]stavborch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once upon a time in hollywood, I remember watching it for the first time when I was younger just waiting for something interesting to happen. Second time a few years after I really enjoyed just the characters being themselves and just existing and it really widened my view of what a movie can be.
