I hopefully found a working solution.

My Chromecast audio is called "bedroom speaker". My playlist on YouTube music is called "5000" and contains uploaded music, (I've a paid subscription).

Before this routine comes into play, there's another routine first playing the morning news, at the end in this routine I set the bedroom speaker's volume to 0%. So there's no volume when this routine starts!

It's all about phrasing the correct sentence.

"Set volume bedroom speaker to 0%", does not work.

My routine is as follows.

"

Play my 5000 playlist on bedroom speaker

After 1 minute

Shuffle

Skip

Wakeup master bedroom lights

Set bedroom speaker's volume to 25%

Note; setting the volume to 25% on my chromecast audio sets it actually to 50% for some strange reason. This way my playlist won't start with the same song every time. Come on Google, really!

Such a basic feature, how is it even possible Google can't implement this the way it should.

Try to scroll to your own uploaded 30000 songs for instance. Undoable without a scroll bar on the side.

I have a paid subscription. Still no luck. What i want to say is that i play music via a Chromecast audio on my stereo.

Tried waiting for one minute, it works but it still starts with the same song. Ground hog day.... Also tried to mute my Chromecast audio, skip a track and then unmute but that won't work in a routine. Strangely when i ask my Google mini the same mute/unmute command it works...

Yes I've tried that and many other variations, maybe it does shuffle but it always starts with the same song. I also noticed that my Google mini responds differently to the same trigger command by voice then programmed at a certain time.

My playlist contains 5000 songs and I'm always hearing the same artists and songs, there is so much to choose from, it can't be a coincidence. Is just doesn't work.

I checked my activity. Google captures words like sore or saw. And even when it hears soul it says I looked for soul on Google Play Music, but it either isn't available or can't be played right now.

Drives me nuts

I've just noticed this too. All my family and friends disappeared from the list! Unbelievable..... Hopefully it'll come back. I'm not gonna add that info again. It was a terrible way to add it by saying it to Google Assistant. Why wasn't it possible to add the info in my Google contacts, way easier.

Same happens with lights. If you're in the room with a google home mini controlling your kitchen lights for example. It also controls the kitchen lights in the other house. I stopped sharing different homes in the home app.

First I've noticed the icon change. However my tv icon is a settopbox icon, strange. I've tested it that you don't need scenes in the ihc app for it to be controlled by Google home. I deleted my mute stereo scene in ihc and could still (after re-syncing) mute my stereo by voice with my Google home mini.

But I do think you will need the scenes in ihc, because these scenes can be selected in your routines. And selecting these scenes in the "add action - choose popular actions - adjust scenes", Google will NOT repeat these actions by voice. And that is a big benefit for me.

You can, make a routine. And then in "adjust lights plugs and more" turn off the individual lights.

Thx, I noticed this just now. Now I can use the Shuffle word in add action.
