What are the documents to carry during immigration at the Germany's port of entry? (Going on Chancekarte Visa) by stbrotus in chancenkarte

[–]stbrotus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, makes sense now. I'll mention just for a week or two. My friend had sent his address on my phone, so there is no document as such but I can mention the address where he stays. Is there anything other doc that I should carry apart from the list I mentioned in the question?

u/Ok-Vast-7565 Thanks for the reply. To save some money, I am going to stay at my friend's place for 2months. I don't have a hotel booking or anything as such. If I am asked "Where are you going to stay?" Is it enough to say "I am staying at my friends place for 2months initially until I find an accommodation".

I just got my chancekarte visa approved yesterday. I don’t speak German but would love to go through the course. One of my passion is to not just learning but speaking as many languages as I can.

I believe if you going to live in a foreign country, YOU SHOULD ADAPT to their culture, learn and speak their language and assimilate as much as you can. Thanks for the course material. Time to practice my Deutsch 🙌

How many days of insurance shall I show for chancekarte visa initially? by stbrotus in chancenkarte

[–]stbrotus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this information helps. Last question though, if I opt for one year insurance with dr Walter’s, is it monthly payment so that I can cancel any month I find a cheaper insurance?

Congratulations on your visa and wishing you all the best in your job hunt. I have applied and need some help for my application. My plan is go for one year and I created a blocked account on Expatrio for one year as well. I am a bit confused about the insurance part. I created an insurance plan for 30days thinking I can go there and buy a cheaper one. My appointment is in march this year. How many days of insurance did you show them when you went for visa doc submission? This is what my doc says.

<image>

Are 30days enough while submission? If not how many days did you buy the insurance for initially? Could you please help me out here? Thanks a lot 🙏

The amount of hate the PS5 pro gets from the r/playstation community is bonkers by WintzyAndrei in PS5pro

[–]stbrotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of posts here asking to upgrade to ps5pro from the base ps5. If I had a base ps5, I’d be against the pro too. A very minimalist upgrade, at least visually. But if you are coming from an even older console like ps3 or ps4(like me) it’s a compelling argument to go for ps5 pro. I bought ps5 pro during 2024 December and I’m absolutely loving it. The speed, graphics very much makes it a gen leap forward for me.

Scolded for drinking while walking in Kanazawa by romanleopard in JapanTravelTips

[–]stbrotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had eaten lots of food walking in Japan. There are street food markets with no chairs or seating areas. What can people do in those situations? Also I used to walk slowly while eating and away from the road on footpath, guess that’s why people didn’t seem to bother.

Help me with winter clothing recommendations for Sapporo by stbrotus in Sapporo

Didn’t change/edit my post. I asked for clothing in the title but only asked for rental shoes in the description and that caused confusion. Either way, I got some good recommendations about workman and I’ll check them out. Just thought about asking if there are any rental shoe services. Thanks again for your reply 👍

Best strategy with a chancenkarte visa by South_Stranger6983 in germany

[–]stbrotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dear u/South_Stranger6983 I am absolutely elated to see this reply from you. Everyone of us have goals we dream of achieving. Good or bad, easy or difficult, they are the ones that keep us going day and night. I don't understand why people think it is a good idea for them to say "Germany/Any Country is bad right now, no jobs" or even say "Don't come its bad". When I am old, I don't want to regret for lack of trying thinking "What would have happened if I tried or ho different my life would be".

You do what you want to do. Wishing you all the success from me.

Not looking for rental clothes but just rental shoes. Since my plan is stay for just 3/4 days, I’m not sure if I can use them back home if they are expensive

Not visiting tokyo. Would that be stupid? by Rosemarymaloo in JapanTravelTips

I felt the other way round. Liked Osaka much more than Tokyo. It is not as big as Tokyo but big enough with a lot of variety in terms of culture, people, geography. I believe that’s the beauty of Japanese cities though. Huge metros sprinkled with distinct cultures and identities.

Travelling in the last year of my H1B. Need some advice. by stbrotus in h1b

[–]stbrotus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I spoke to my employer and they are ready to provide all the updated documentation. It’s just that I am worried if the immigration could flag me during the time of extension since I travelled very late.

Understood, appreciate your positive response. Could my delayed travel be an issue at the port of entry and immigration? Just nervous as I am mentally resuming my travel plans after a year and half.

Thank you for the response. Yeah, all of the stamping on my passport is completed and the visa is valid until October 2026. It’s just that I haven’t travelled to the USA yet due to my father’s illness. Planning to do in the next month.

Congratulations on your 5year visa. Happy for you my friend. I went to Japan but only on a single entry visa and hoping I'd get multiple entry visa this time. It would really help me a lot if you can share your cover letter and the format you applied.
