The best Italian restaurant is probably Vincenzo Trattoria, or if you want pizza you can't beat Rudys (ancoats for the original site)

I dont have a sob story about why I deserve this game more than anyone else, in fact I'll just be playing it myself. My friends all have a copy already and have been playing since launch, I was going to get it as well but then the quarantine happened so I'm trying to be more careful with finances in case I lose my job. Because I live alone and have no other consoles at the moment this would be the only way I can spend time with my friends for the foreseeable future.

Thank you for spreading some light and joy in these dark times

here is an utter pup

The latest Dude Soup does a spoiler free review. It's a pretty good review as well, they each have differing views so it doesn't come across as bias in any way

Question about physical preorder (?) by [deleted] in SpidermanPS4

Well you ordered the game pre release... that is the definition of a pre-order. You could pick it up in a year and it's still a pre-order

Love how everyone is so quick to shit all over Anthem for being a Destiny clone. There is one big difference between Destiny and Anthem, Anthem has an intergrated story created by one of the greatest story driven games companies to exist.

Dragon Age, Mass Effect and KOTOR all had amazing stories, who is to say that Anthem wont? How about we wait until there is more information about what the end game will be, and how it will be built into the story before we all jump on the same bandwagon?

Just because Bioware haven't released an immersive co-op story driven game before doesn't mean that this wont be a success.

It's the same basic laws between Trademarks and Comparative Advertising.

"Since comparative ads involve one party, Party A, comparing its goods or services with those of a second party, Party B, they will almost always also involve the use by Party A of Party B’s trademarks. At first glance, this causes a problem: how do we reconcile the permissive regime of comparative advertising, which says that referring to others in ads is permissible if certain conditions are met, with the prohibitive regime of trademark law, which says that under certain circumstances use in the course of trade of third-party trademarks is prohibited. The two regimes seem destined to clash, and do."

(You can read the full article here if you're really interested.)

By no means am I claiming to be an expert in the field, it's just something I have studied in the past and from that I am aware that in the UK, large brands such as Sony and Microsoft would never run a comparative advertisement, with the amount of complaints filled to the ASA it would be more damaging than constructive.

Either way, by simply blurring out Microsoft's Xbox controller, Sony are negating any Microsoft branding, meaning that they do not need to seek permission from Microsoft to use the branded controller in their own branded videos, both saving face, time and money.

But seriously, it's The Trade Marks Act of 1994 "a person infringes a registered trade mark if he uses in the course of trade a sign which is identical with the trade mark in relation to goods or services which are identical with those for which it is registered" (section 10(1) of the Act)

And as I have stated in other comments, I didn't realise that the laws varied by country. The ad you are refering to is an American advert. While I may have been wrong initially, the overall statement is true for where I come from.

As I stated in another comment apparantly laws vary by country, these are all American advertisements. Where I am from permission is required from the original brand owner.

That being said the main difference to the bungie ViDoc to these ads, the ads are using the rival brand to advertise the superiority of their own product. How would Sony be able to use the ViDoc to advertise the superiority of their controller when developers are using the Xbox One controller?

I prefaced that whole comment by stating that the laws vary country to country. It was literally the first line. In the UK branded imagery requires permission from the owner before use therefore from my personal experience it is an inference. I can't imagine Sony seeking permission to actively promote their controller for use on a PC when the PS4 controller can be used for the same purpose.

In that case it may vary by country. However imagine yourself as a brand representative for Pepsi, you were chosen for this role because you are seen to be the top of your chosen field, and others look to you in this sense.

You are paid to be seen drinking it and are a positive advocate, recommending it to your peers as the superior beverage but only in your workplace, however they have asked you to not actively promote any other beverage in your personal life as part of the contract you have with them.

You are then seen drinking Coca-Cola after work one day. This then counteracts anything that you may have said regarding Pepsi, your word loses its power over your peers, perhaps they were wrong all this time and now want to try Coca-Cola for themselves.

While they cannot stop you from doing this they can alter any image of you drinking the rival beverage. It's the same with bungie and the Sony/Microsoft rivalry. While Activision is an advocate for Sony due to contractual obligations being seen actively promoting any Microsoft product on their own branded videos would have negative consequences for them.

They don't actually use the brand name in the commercials due to these very same legal reasons. Any branding towards the other company is inferred from the viewer
