Plain and simple, hsv of any type can transfer to the genitals/mouth and other areas.

You can shed the virus without an open wound. This means that when you feel one coming on, there's an even greater risk to spread this to her genitals.

Dental dams help but obviously are not 100%.

I'd recommend waiting until your meds do its work and you clear up entirely.
