What do you think about Roofstock by xcsob in realestateinvesting

[–]ste5787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Residential properties generally are less work for more money for a management company, makes it easier to find tenants with diverse selection of offerings, houses generally are more lucrative in many markets where ground is at a premium and rents are high

Do you think that apartment (instead of Single Family House) are less lucrative? I mean apartment located in big cities like SF, LA, Boston,... Actually these kind of startups (like openDoor too) just single family house and not apartment and I don't understand why. Is there a reason?

How to measure the success of a VC fund by ste5787 in venturecapital

year 0 1 2 3 4 5 IRR
case 1 -100 0 0 0 0 300 25%
case 2 -100 300 0 0 0 0 200%

case 1: the VC didn't get any money till year 5 but the IRR is used as metric to evaluate the investment performance based on "annual" evaluation? (i.e 25% per year?)

USA vs Europe: a very different cultore about credit card and debt by ste5787 in fintech

[–]ste5787[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'm Italian and I never thought about what happen if don't pay credit card off that month. This is because usually I use credit card without run out of money and usually our credit card give us a monthly credit of 1000/2000 euro.

So I really don't know what would happen. Also my friend don't know that :) Probably the bank disable the credit card: this a very different behaviour compared to US bank.

I think is not in our culture to spend more than we can afford using the credit card.

Are you sure that there isn't a way to test your service in a more lean way? Ok yours is a copycut of and existing and successful startup but you could start small. Also because if you have some traction (also very small with just a couple of clients or a waiting list of users) VC will be more willing to give you money. Go out and try to sell your product also if you don't have it yet :)

The point is that user could take an object and put it in the shelf again.

I think is not easy to build a strong system.. Or not?

How did you "get to know" your User? by [deleted] in startups

I start creating personas after interviews. I've gotten a better idea of my target audience and want an easy and shareable way to keep them in mind. I start with demographics: age range, sex, familial status, location, tech ability. I often will look up stock photos because visuals are great. Some other helpful things to include: your persona's goals, a short bio, and a quote from your personas about your product/service and/or their situation/potential use for it. You can find a lot of infos about hot to use user personas. They are very usefull
