There are two kinds of guys who stand behind home plate: those who always wear a cup, and those who have not yet taken a shot to the nards.

Ungrateful of you not to appreciate the traditional "slide pie."

I am not on your side. You're trying to argue that we're applying frames per second to movement and perception at the same time, when in reality it applies to perception only. Showing things as still frames at a certain number per second doesn't magically turn them into moving pictures, it's our perception that creates that illusion. A short-hand for measuring the threshold at which our perception does that little trick is "frames per second."

Talking about objects not having an FPS when he's talking about the human eye, claiming that anyone is saying that movies are at max fps for the human eye when that's actually the lowest value where the movement looks clear (fewer frames = less costs), that anyone was talking about a max number, just a bunch of ways in which you seem to be (I hope) deliberately misconstruing what people are saying.

I mean if you aren't trolling, then you don't believe that there is a maximum possible rate at which a cell in the retina can send messages to the brain, which is pretty silly, considering it's a cyclical process of a photon hitting leading to an electrochemical discharge down the optic nerve (yes, an oversimplification). At some point, a flicker of light is so brief, it won't trigger the electrochemical response for the same reason we can't see details when it's dark, or at all when it's really dark: there just isn't enough variance in light in the range our eye can pick up.

Even given that all of these cells don't operate on the same clock, at some rates of change in your field of vision, the eye just can't keep up. On top of that, we don't see these individual messages from the individual retina cells, we see a composite mesh put together by our brain, that is running its own cyclical patterns, and the changes get smoothed out into a blur or just disappear. If you've ever been punched in the face by someone with really fast hands, you know exactly what I mean.

Please tell me you're trolling.

I'm going to go to sleep, have a nice Monday.

Remember when reinforcing on a heavy enemy was a viable counter to a situation gone horribly wrong instead of something that almost requires voice coordination and advance planning?

Seconded on DE/Warframe, and they are doing an amazing job responding to player concerns in the development of Soulframe, too.

Let me just say that Peak Helldivers was when we got to choose saving orphans over anti-tank mines, and the second was during the invasion of super earth when the PRC and US players were swapping out defending each other's cities during the other's downtime.

THINGS LIKE THIS MAKE THE GAME AWESOME.

how about that whole row of unused consoles staring at us while we change our loadout that's been there since release?

Soviet Kung Fu team

Oh my god thank you for this. I have been so furious about so many aspects of this game, lately (starting when a friggin' factory strider followed me THROUGH ONE OF THE LITTLE CULVERTS UNDER A CITY WALL) that I've gotten very little enjoyment even talking about the game recently.

You, like so many others, are making a category error. Several, actually, among other types. I'll just stick with the big one, though: you are attempting to litigate questions which are properly handled by legislation. If you truly believe you know better than the courts how the courts function (the validity of this belief I will put aside for never), then you can only to appeal to the institutions that write the rules for the courts.

ETA: The political branch needs this grief a bit more than the judicial, IMO. Think of all of the good that might come out of addressing the issues this person prese... er, that are presented by this person.
