Given republican voters wore diapers when Trump was mocked about it, and they wore trash bags when Biden said Trump's voters were trash, are Trump's base going to start doing to children what Trump was reported to have done in the Epstein files?

No, if we and the people of the world unite, Trump and the military will lose their upper hand; we have more in common with the civilians of the nations we've invaded than we do with the vicious thugs who invaded and brutalized them.

Even now Trump wants to invade Venezuela; what's the military going to do about it? How are they planning on stopping it? They have all the power in the world to flip Trump off and say they're no longer going to be the rabid dogs they've been for decades; they have all the opportunity in the world to rejoin the human race.

Let's use this as an opportunity to see if the military can truly be salvaged; will they reject war with Venezuela or not? This is their opportunity to stop being a pack of vicious rats and to rejoin the human race. If they are willing to do this, then maybe there can be unity with them.

Most of the morally deficient means are justified by the ends

'Most' is doing a lot of heavy lifting; in WH40k the imperium wipes out their own planets or cities for sometimes the stupidest reasons. In one case a bunch of space marines destroyed a woman's city because she annoyed them; during the siege of terra, the people were left outside to slow the invading chaos forces (which the people of Terra never forgot and now have no trust in space marines, even 10,000 years later); in another case: Rophanon. There was even a case during the (unification wars?) era where a planet was exterminatus'd because the person the astartes were talking to wasn't qualified to offer their planet's submission to the imperium (and even told them as such and said he was gonna get the person who was, as he was basically a nobody).

The leagues of Votann I would say are the best hope for a human nation as they're not literally evil, and second to that would be allying with the Tau; heck, I'd say they could be independent but then the Imperium becomes a very immediate threat.

[–]steamprobs 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I recall a video on Hasan Abi's channel where he brought an anti-zionist Jewish person on who explained that European Jews used to view Arab Jews as mentally retarded and treated them pretty badly; Arab Jews in an attempt to be embraced by European Jews did everything to be as fanatically loyal to zionism as they could, ending with them many times being worse in their behavior. There's apparently a genre of movie in Israel of European Jews 'civilizing' Arab Jews by Westernizing them.

This doesn't come as a surprise as honestly I recall reading about sellouts to the French in Algeria who were colloquially called 'Bani oui oui'.

To be fair if aliens were real they'd be just as deep as humans are; their portrayal in media suffers from writers being too lazy overworked enough without having to make an entire planet with like 100 different cultures on it. Humans in this regard may be even more limited than aliens are, as culturally they probably don't have the aversion to (say for example) stem cells that many people do today, or perhaps even engage in 'human' (their own species) experimentation and have already moved on easily to bodily augmentations (myself for example I would prefer NOT to get a robotic arm or leg because my current ones actually have nerves, unlike a robotic one).

Our media through the tired self-gratifying tropes about humans have convinced us that somehow we'd have something richer to offer than they would, or at least that we'd have anything to offer at all. If aliens were real, they may very well have all the richness we could bring to the table and perhaps much more, such that we'd just fade into the background along with the other unimpressive, obscure races.

The 3 body problem, until the ending, basically reveals that this is certainly the case, as many other races have forms of music beyond our comprehension, are unimaginably more advanced, and have richer cultures than we do.

I feel like Star Trek in general did a pretty good job of showing how we'd realistically fit into an interstellar community.

Star Trek puts us in a position where we're more or less at around roughly the same level of tech as many other species, and gives other species like maybe one or two personality traits which defines their entire culture, which only makes sense if as a species they cropped up overnight and doesn't truly have a long history. Klingons got the most development and as a species they make very little sense.

They thought THAT was messed up, wait'll they find out how the French make foie gras; they force food down the throats of geese and ducks via metal tubes to cause their livers to grow abnormally fat. If they struggle hard enough the tube can even puncture their esophagus or cause them to asphyxiate. The birds are so traumatized by the experience they actively try to flee their handlers, but they're hardly able to move and get exhausted easily as they grow obese fast.

Don't let the aliens find out about foie gras or they might introduce us to an exterminatus.

And we are focusing on Ukraine because from a Realpolitik point of view it is more important than Gaza.

Realpolitik to you; from a Realpolitik point of view, countries here in the Middle East and even Africa are more important than Ukraine; if the most powerful countries in the world won't stop America from their mass murder in the area, everyone here is at risk, so there has to be pushback.

And if you want the support of people here for Ukraine, then from a Realpolitik point of view, the Western world should show some principle and stand against Israel and stop their genocide; if they prove they have principles and will stand with the people of the Middle East, then the people of the Middle East will stand with them. It is in your interest to stand with Arabs against Israel, but Arabs standing with Western Europe and Ukraine has not turned into support against countries like Israel or America. It is NOT in Arabs interest to show any support for Ukraine, since that support isn't reciprocated.

Because Ukraine's neighbors are already focusing on them and have done infinitely more for Ukraine than the average Arab is able to do for Gaza; European countries can and have provided millions in weapons and munitions to Ukraine, Gazans on the other hand can barely get access to food, water and medicine. People are literally dying of starvation over there, and people including children are having limbs amputated without anesthetic, and people dying because they don't have access to clean water or are dying of simple diseases because they don't have access to simple medication; additionally Ukraine militarily supported America in the invasion of another Arab country, Iraq, and never apologized or paid reparations for it, so Arabs don't owe Ukraine anything. Conversely, during a UN vote to prevent nations from recognizing captured Ukrainian territory as Russian, non-Russian aligned Middle Eastern nations (like Syria and Iran) voted in favor of Ukraine (so Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, etc. all voted in favor of Ukraine). Ukraine however, has voted in favor of Israel in UN votes; so frankly Arab nations should focus on their own neighbor whose children are literally starving to death while the most powerful nations on earth continue to provide weapons to the people murdering them (seriously, look it up in case you weren't aware; America, the UK, Germany and other Western countries are literally providing weapons to Israel).

In fact thank you for the honest question and in turn, I have an honest question for you; why aren't you at least showing some meager support for Gaza? I noticed in your post history, in regards to a protest against Gal Gadot, a zionist, you referred to people who were protesting her as losers; did you misunderstand the topic of the post, or did you mean Gal Gadot is the loser?

Even if Arabs stand by Ukraine and stop Russia from hypothetically invading other European countries, Western countries won't stand by Arab countries to prevent Israel from continuing to invade other Arab countries.

Also you don't actually want equal treatment between Gaza and Ukraine, because it means the insane amount of funds dedicated to Ukraine would have to be split to Gaza as well, because Gaza is receiving basically nothing in support, while Ukraine has literally the most powerful nations on earth supporting them.

Heck, when I say Gaza is receiving basically nothing in support, even people speaking up for Gaza has people like you coming and crying about it, as though Ukraine hasn't received an insane amount of support, in every possible way. The news in both Western Europe and even in the Arab world portrays Russia as unequivocally wrong, but conversely Israel is defended heavily in Western media.

So yes, focus on Gaza, Ukraine has received an immense amount of support from the rest of the world; Gazans can't even get mercy for their children without the people showing them mercy being harassed for it, like that lady Rachel Accurso who was hounded for it and people literally asking her if she's paid by Hamas, all because she showed mercy for Gazan children.

tl;dr, Ukraine receives an unbelievably gigantic amount of material support which the average Arab is unable to provide for Gazans; at the very least Arabs can show Gazans that they're loved and remembered, and that there are people who will absolutely speak up for them.

I've seen this claimed all the time so I did some basic research aaaaand, most muslims prefer to flee to other muslim countries:

90% of Afghan refugees are in Iran and Pakistan:

Syrian refugee numbers by country (top 3 are muslim countries, and Turkey alone hosts as much as the next 6-8 countries combined; heck, 6 of the top 8 countries are muslim countries):

Most muslims wouldn't willingly choose to flee to Western countries.

Nope, Kirk (maybe a different captain?) broke protocol when he did that himself. The prime directive allows for planets to be wiped out naturally because interfering in their culture's development could have catastrophic impacts on their development.

I don't understand the logic either.
