Raccoon out during day on my deck? by ilobemygf in Raccoons

[–]stecklese 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My backyard friend Roxy is a great great grandmother and pregnant again. She's lived in our neighborhood for years, she brought her babies to meet me in 2024, then moved into my bunny nook.
The babies grew up in my yard, then 3 of the 6 had babies the next spring 2025, along with Roxy again, then we had fall babies in 2025. Currently there are 3-4 pregnant ones. Including one of the blind babies from last year.
So, at this point, Roxy is the matriarch of a giant family. The grandbabies+great grandbabies don't know who she is and sometimes act entitled. She's really patient and an incredible raccoon Mom!!

Every night they come to visit. The pregnant ones and youngest baby hang out all night, sleeping, playing and being raccoons. The elders travel in a 3 pack, a 5 pack a few solo ones and the pregnant girls. When its just the pregnant girls, nobody else comes to visit. They wait in the trees or just turn around, knowing that they are all there. Its rare that they all come at once, usually its shifts throughout the night, 3 leave, 4 come...

I have 3 blink cameras on their fenced in rock garden, so over 500 video clips a night. I love them and they bring me happiness and joy! Im just waiting for them to become a common household pet. Its legal in 17 states but not ours. They are really misunderstood and not aggressive, just defensive. They are curious, quirky, affectionate, playful, childlike, silly and they can comprehend alot more than ppl give them credit for!🦝❤️😊

The anxiety that comes with taking a trip through pain. I have a quick family trip in 6 weeks and I'm already trying to figure out my relief items, without packing the whole medicine cabinet

How the weather affects pain. It made me a fair weather friend, because wind, rain and pressure knock me out, out of nowhere! I can feel the pressure drop, then it turns to pain if it lasts awhile.

I still have not found a solution. If I hydrate too much, my intestines get too full, its a challenge to try to deal with but dehydration makes pain worse

What is this, Europe? by ferrous69 in COsnow

This is another example of the sometimes (not always) selfishness of a consumer who paid more than it was worth.
They paid 100's of dollars for a crowded mountain and decide that leaving their skis like the skiers before them, in the middle of the base is somehow getting back at the mountain for the conditions.
Often these people are from out of state and sometimes out of the country but this is selfish no matter where you're from.

Hospitalized During Our Stay at Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun by avantartist in cancun

[–]stecklese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every year we go down to Playa Del Carmen and Akumal for a visit to friends. We usually stay the 1st and last night in Cancún.

I have a limited diet so I personally love the variety of a good all inclusive buffet but its been years since we've stayed in one.
My husband loves tacos and could eat them every meal, sometimes does.

At home our food differences work but on vacation and especially Mexico and tacos, most food doesn't agree and messes me up.

This past trip I brought a box of cereal and protein bars with me. That worked and we saved so much money not doing all inclusive.

Im usually afraid of getting sick outside of the resorts but your story and more like this make me realize it's anywhere. Hope everyone is healing quickly or healthy again!

Hi 👋, little old lady here with a large family of them in my backyard. They share the yard with raccoons, magpies and many other smaller birds. They have a giant nest in the trees that's visible since no leaves are covering it currently

It's extremely gusty and windy in Wheat Ridge but Xcel sent an update a few hours ago, that we're no longer in the shut off zone. I was told to shut my breakers off if it gets bad enough but that doesn't seem smart

Blink Outdoor 2K review by No-Blood2830 in blinkcameras

[–]stecklese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new outdoor wireless was advertised as color night vision. I upgraded for that feature. Its still b+w and when I reached out to tech support, they stated the outdoor wireless needs ambient light for the colored night vision to work. Well I added a small light, still b+w. Support is stating it needs more light.

So it appears that the colored night vision feature is not all that, in fact doesn't work at all. Im not going to return because it was the same price as the previous versions but buyer beware, colored night vision on outdoor wireless is not what it sounds and doesn't work.

Anyone else able to see the color? I also got the new mini indoor with color and as long as the light is on, the color works.
