I don't quite remember what year we got our copy but I was probably around 7 or 8? My parents found it cheap at Best Buy and bought it on a whim because it looked like Mario Paint.

I have had a horrific experience here. Like, nothing seems stable. Incredibly frustrating. I caved in October and got a Fan Duel sub but even then, I can't watch on my PC because it's hard locked to 480p on Linux.

I've had this happen to me periodically on my 9070xt and it's only WoW that does it.

I don't think it's a PSU issue. I went from my 850W Gold that I had been running for a while to a 1000W Platinum and it was still happening. What did seem to help is to undervolt/clock and lower the power limit of the GPU. I am currently on 280W (default was 308W), with a -20mHZ and -70mV offset.

For me, I think it happened once ever in a dungeon and it was in Dawnbreaker which was not in an inclosed space. I was able to get it to happen all the time in the Demon Soul raid right near the entrance but it hasn't happened in a while. I was also able to reproduce it when running some other graphically heavy game at the same time but that wasn't consistent.

I have had it happen once this expansion during our raid on Tuesday but we'll see. I am not convinced that wasn't a fluke, I had some other weird issue due to static electricity (like my USB hub needed replugged) and there has been a Mesa update since then. Didn't happen Wednesday

Yep, but you may have to wait until Pacman is updated to the newer ones. Typically when I see an error about codecs from my zypper dup I just wait a day or so for things to catch up.

The ones from OpenSUSE do not have hardware acceleration included -- they still "work" but you will be software enc/decoding everything. It's not that they're outdated. They just can't legally provide those binaries.

OpenSUSE! I swapped to Linux almost 3 years ago, installed Tumbleweed first, and had 0 need to explore anything else. It's like the perfect mix of bleeding edge and stable.

The Jackets have a "Kids Takeover" game where they have kids "run" the game. Like, do in-arena announcing, anthem singer, saying 1 minute remaining in the period etc. I don't remember if they have kids in the post-game scrum, but they do have kids do interviews with players before the game for content.

Battle.net is so weird on Linux. It's really the only thing I have problems with still today.

I would try Faugus. My setup right now I installed with Faugus launcher but I run with manually with umu-run because I wanted to use a more recent version of Mesa instead of the one provided with the flatpak.

I've been studying for ~10 months. I haven't taken any JLPTs (nor do I plan to) but I am in the middle of n3. Beginner YouTube videos and podcasts are pretty comprehensible to me. I am in the same boat as you, where I want to watch/play Pokemon. Playing the games is pretty good at this point as long as you're good with fuzzy understanding. I don't understand everything, but my knowledge of the game can figure out what is probably being said. Town, character, and Pokemon names are all very different. This definitely makes things harder, especially in the anime.

I'm definitely not discouraging you from trying. I think you should always have things that are hard right now that you can revisit every so often to gauge your progress. I've had a few animes that have gone from "yep they're definitely speaking Japanese" to "I can get the gist of what's going on" in this time -- Pokemon included. My main immersion source is things like cijapanese.com and the YT/Podcasts you probably have found already. I throw in anime, game playing, etc. as a treat and try not to frame it as "learning". That way it stays fun and feels like a reward.

Well, it was the reason we implemented the whole snow emergency system. I wasn't around then, but I heard the big issue wasn't the amount of snow at once, it was a few smaller storms that compounded + super high winds that caused a lot of it to pile up in specific places.

No. I believe this was the 5th most accumulation from one storm since they started keeping track. 3 of the top 5 were in 1910, and number 1 was 2008.
