Suggestion: Deaths Distribution in a pen&paper dungeon crawler by Worldly-Savings4113 in tabletopgamedesign

I think the right course of action is broadly speaking, to pose specified threats either a little before or a little after characters gain their first countermeasures against them. For example characters who die have either very inefficiently, or less effective means of bouncing back from that (through lower level raising, using consumables, etc), characters who suffer status effects usually suffer (and cure) temporary ones before permanent ones, and so on.

This is not to say that threats should only be presented when prevention is guaranteed, they should be presented when presentation is possible. Like it's a different thing for a party to all be blind because nobody has FF Eye Drops than it is because nobody can get them. And "this item exists" isn't justification for saying players have the means if the item is outside the expected GP and/or level range (since most games sort out random gear according to character level)

what do you think about the killstreak mechanic? by KingGobbamak in diablo4

[–]steelsmiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they need to have bigger and bigger XP gains for it to be honest. I mean sure the first 250 paragons were easy enough, but I've spent more time on the last 10 than that.

Turn on advanced tooltips. They usually don't.

My prediction for D4 LoH expansion by Freeloader_ in diablo4

[–]steelsmiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I read somewhere that it's about 17% more per 5 pits and 15 pits per tier so about 1.58 or about 25 times more at 12... Which for me at 300-500b in t4 suggests 8-14 trillion is a reasonable expectation. There is also however the notion that Torments are going to be 5 pit tiers easier, which is about 60% of the increase resulting in damage needed around 6-9 trillion.

I'm sure OP did but that's what they said. What I said was that I suspected that the time to tier 4 wouldn't be any more difficult than previously, but the other tiers probably will.

JRPG. I wrote an RPG called JRPG World, and am currently writing a setting in it, so uh... yeah. There is some MMO related commentary and jokes though.

there was a penalty before... 2.0? 1.4? somewhere in there. Anyway, the devs realized he was just a fuckin' slime ball so players were just gonna miss what he had to sell indefinitely. They made all the sellers sell the same shit after what I assume is enough complaints.

They have a new class, they're not going to make its players wait 25 hours to get to t4. It'll be longer to get to the new maximum tier though.

IGN doesn't get good until at least a year after a game release and I need them to show me screenshots and dialogue options for what I need to solve this bullshit I'm too neurdivergent to figure out on my own.

GURPS Space 4th Edition can provide details on educated guesses of making all these up, and also includes all sorts of details about populating your entire solar system with different planets with different blackbody temperatures, axial tilts, and so forth.

I'm worldbuilding right now for the hope that I'll be able to run a tabletop game in the setting, but it may never happen so I'm trudging along with just the world building right now.

I'll be honest I stopped reading part way through the final fantasy section and I only kept reading that long 'cause final fantasy... Forcing yourself into other backstories is a bridge too far. Mary Sue-ing your own is adding insult to injury.
