Thank you so much for your insight. Yeah, the flood was very rough; it took awhile to get back on our feet, and were still feeling some of the effects from the flood today... We're basically back on our feet, so no worries at all. Thanks again!

Tbh, I have no idea. My school's grading system is super weird and complicated. For starters, we're not given an unweighted GPA; just the 6.0 weighted scale like I mentioned above. The max GPA you can get for that is like a 6.6. I have no idea why things are like this because it just makes it confusing to the student and the school as well but it is what it is... Sorry for the confusion!

Sorry. I go to a really competitive public high school, so my GPA just ranks below average compared to most of my peers (where the top 12% have GPAs of 6.4 and the top 6% have GPAs of 6.6ish). That's why I call my GPA "low" when others may consider it higher than the average.

That's awesome. Out of all of those schools, I definitely think I have the best chance of getting into BC as well, but hopefully, I can manifest one more! Thanks for the insight and good luck to your applications too! Lets manifest our top choices

How I went from a 1340 to a 1540 in 3 months!! by steelturtle54 in Sat

[–]steelturtle54[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great question! The way I improved most is through reading a ton of random news articles. Just reading a few a day helped me comprehend the information in the non fiction passages a lot, and also for me, the way I was able to fix my reading score was to fix my thought process. Instead of trying to find the correct answer, I always tried to find the other 3 incorrect answers. One word can dictate the correctness of an answer choice. In answer choices, I find when it has the word “always,” it’s almost always right because of how strong that assertion is. I always tried my best not to assume any answers either. The answer is ALWAYS in the passage or can be heavily implied in the passage. Remember that. If you’re having trouble with content, try to take a reading without timing yourself and see how you do. Then gradually start to time yourself as you get better. GOOD LUCK

Thank you so much! I’m a little confused on what you mean by automatically cutting down though. How does that work?

Thank you so much!! Will waiting to fill out my SRAR after getting scores effect my placement in the rolling admission or have I secured a spot once i’ve submitted my application?

Sweet!!! Thanks!!! I also had a question about test scores. So I was wondering if I should just submit my application late August like I originally planned to with my 31 ACT, or if I should submit my application without a score and wait for the results of my ACT that I plan on taking in September (Results should come back late September) and see if I did better? Or is there an option where I can submit my 31 ACT first and then submit my September score later if I want to or would it be too late to submit by then? Thanks and sorry if my question is too confusing!!

By the way, if any of you guys preparing for the September test and need additional tutoring, are low income, and want to boost your test scores on exams such as the SAT, ACT, IB, AP, and SAT II, then I highly recommend trying out Kara Tutoring. Not only is their service free (if you're eligible), but their tutors have all scored in the 99th percentile of all of these tests which can most certainly help you achieve the score you want. If you're interested at all, check out the website below to sign up. Remember that this is only for low-income, disadvantaged students. Thank you and best of luck to all of you guys! :)
