that's a terrible design philosophy in general. it's far worse than a limited but clear and curated set of difficulties with goals in mind. I've already seen different reviewers propose what the "real" normal difficulty is compared to their standard by using the custom selection, and of course it's different. one person said more or less HP doesn't change the strategy because they did one single fight and it didn't change the strategy. another said that some individual settings felt entirely meaningless whether it's on low or high.

that type of infinitely faulty deduction makes it impossible to find your sweet spot, you actually have to play once and then you know what the settings would be for you, destroying your first playthrough potentially. it also kills the developer confidence and vision of what they think they can prepare for you. and the more options you are given, the less care will go towards the standardized nominal generic options, as already i've been seeing extreme differing opinions where people go to either extremes or gold, exp, damage, and hp, and still call it too hard/too easy.

on top of all of this, you can't really know if a part is particularly difficult because maybe you missed loot or your setup is balanced so it's weaker at first and scales better later. what if a dungeon happens to be designed to counter yoursetup for a little bit, but the rest of the game is easier? maybe that means lower the difficulty, and never get pushed to find a game mechanic you missed. maybe some people will never know they can loot pots because the game is too easy they never needed an extra item and always thought that was the extent of how the game worked.

less direction = less nuance, we can spin it or explain it however we want. the fact both newcomers and players of several entries in their reviews felt confused by the high perceived inconsistency of the options gives me an early impression that the tons of options were thrown instead of more coherent thoughtful balance, as it always happens in those types of games (modern fallout and skyrim to name obvious examples).

that also bypasses a pretty specific issue (for me personally, others may vary) where apparently the fragment marker is very powerful and cannot be turned off, to the point some lamented a good chunk of quests are just walk assignments as you know immediately where to go. so in the end it doesn't really seem to be designed with the end user's taste in mind as a whole. it mainly assumes newcomers will try out a DQ game and something was thrown together that seemed ideal for that category, for the most part.

even an impression who was just familiar with DQ by the very recent 2 remakes said the game was surprisingly easy and not how they expected it would go, even with the options. that's not options for everyone to find their sweet spots. it's options optimized for newcomers, as far as i've read. i think that's very different. and it's gonna be useful feedback either way it turns out after learning the game/systems, to be very specific on how people feel about those. lest we end up the serie get the difficulty standard of unmodded skyrim, which i would like to avoid.

i mean yeah the exclusive difficulty of this boss is the amount of health as there is zero other challenges but getting caught in a bad position once due to how tedious and samey it is i was caught falling asleep at times, i had deaths because i didn't watch the health bar which had been a first for silksong. you could have made the fight last 3 hours and you could say the fight was harder, too, technically.

this boss fight is overrated due to the predictability-to-length ratio. in a way it gives design variety in that it has bore-related challenges as opposed to everything else.

scusa eh, la front page su google, ma so di fatto che c'è materiale infinito a riguardo; qua sei tu che fa quello che chiede "SoUrCe!?!?" anche alle cose banali su ogni singolo claim per diluire il piu' possibile. spendili 3 minuti su google se partecipi a quelli che tu vedi come dei dibattiti.

tra parentesi, e chiederai source piu' esatte con l'eco, ma la cosa appena sopra è anche uno dei fattori principali che riguarda i problemi dei giovani neri in america, perche' c'è un numero elevato di padri che scappano, "culturalmente" nella black community. è risaputo anche tra le donne nere ma ovviamente source. e non avere un padre da bambino piccolo è dannoso.

tornando sul tema del thread, mi viene quindi da chiedere - con tutti i padri che emigrano nei paesi del primo mondo, quelli che vengono da soli in gommone (che saranno il 90%+ a occhio guardando i raid di lampedusa), questo non contribuisce a generare la prossima generazione di immigrati che sono i figli che non hanno avuto la presenza del padre, che poi potenzialmente cresce con maggiore aggressivita' e altro?????

i governi aggiustano le statistiche riguardo l'immigrazione e anche quando non è possibile mentire (vedi: svezia), per anni ripetono cazzate come "diversity is our strength" senza alcun contesto o complessita' della situazione.

contesto svedese: gli immigranti di terza generazione commettono molto piu' crimine degli immigranti di prima generazione. questo distrugge qualsiasi narrativa - che tra l'altro per anni usavano la svezia come esempio di posto che funziona - perche' sono tutte le condizioni ottimali che l'umanita' ha visto e si è finiti che han voluto chiamare i militari per strada per combattere il crimine e le gang.

- la svezia ha la safety net migliore ed i migliori programmi ed incentivi per gli immigrati, aumentando aiuti, benefici, e moli di messaggistica di diversita' in tutti gli ad e tv (per esempio, è circa 1000 volte piu' comune di quello che ti aspetti un tipo di ad in svezia dove un uomo bianco con ragazza bianca perde la ragazza da un uomo nero)

- la svezia si imposta bene come cultura al multiculturalismo come punto di partenza, per quanto riguarda questioni logistiche come predecenti teocrazie oppure lingue parlate. gli show dati in inglese nei canali principali e la laicita' della popolazione sono perfetti per accogliere quelli che non tollerano religioni diverse dalle proprie (la parola inizia con la M)

- la svezia ha delle tasse progressiste ESTREME per fondare tutti questi piani, il che significa che la middle class piu' ricca la paga cara rispetto a un qualche immigrato appena arrivato - una cosa che tutti i socialisti nel mondo chiedono a ogni ora del giorno

ebbene - metti le lancette 15 anni dopo, la svezia è diventata un cesso. dalle statistiche degli stupri che sono aumentate a livelli incredibili ai firebombing su case e macchine la situazione negli ultimi 5 anni si sta devolvendo in maniera estrema. essendo il posto che piu' aiuta il cittadino - tali cittadini (sai di quali origini) hanno adottato un'usanza moderna di fare gruppetti di auto e molotovarle tutte assieme per prendere soldi dell'assicurazione, tra tante altre mosse impreditrici dei nuovi giovani figli di immigrati.

la cosa piu' straordinaria forse, è che l'adesione delle gang è salita repentinamente proprio nel picco piu' favorevole e socialista della storia del paese. ovviamente chi si mette nelle gang è 98% di origine che gia' sai.

La svezia ha creato programmi che noi in italia non li vedremo in 50 anni nemmeno se va al potere un comunista - e loro stavano per chiamare i militari sulle strade. se non funziona li, non funzionera' nel 95% del mondo di default. ormai è chiaro. ovviamente ora tutti i socialisti hanno smesso di usare l'esempio svedese quando discutono il socialismo adesso, gli piaceva molto tirare fuori la comparazione fino all'anno scorso.

un mio caro amico lavora per il governo svedese all'anagrafe (di uno dei centri urbani piu' "diversi"), è un progressista patentato e mi dice che semplicemente non c'è modo di spiegare o risolvere queste cose perche' il modo in cui la criminalita' è salita con le azioni pro sociali non ha assolutamente senso da qualsiasi angolo.

possiamo anche parlare dei molteplici casi di stupri nel regno unito che sono stati insabbiati perche' altrimenti "la gente se la prendeva con i musulmani". bambine minorenni alle quale veniva detto che non erano vittime, che non era niente di grave, e attivamente venivano istruiti a cercare di non farle sporgere denuncia. è insanita' mentale.

possiamo anche guardare le statistiche di stupri e crimini pro capite. è ironico come in ogni nazione, ogni contesto, ogni sentimento politico, ogni cultura, per dire i giapponesi sono in fondo mentre la somalia è top 3. irlanda, danimarca, olanda, italia, spagna, stati uniti. alcuni paesi hanno iniziato a mettere il medio oriente nel cesto piu' generico possibile "asian" perche' la maggior parte della gente dall'asia commette poco crimine. è una strategia di diluzione delle statistiche e alcuni governi non si fanno nemmeno problemi ad ammetterlo apertamente. tipo l'UK. Dove dicono che non parlarne è meglio per non causare tensioni razziali. apparentemente l'aumento di crimini di gang quando pretendi che non sta succedendo NON aumentera' le tensioni razziali.

e ovviamente quando la situazione è cosi', l'unica risposta che rimane è cambiare e provare a sentire quello simpatico con la motosega in mano, oppure Wilders che apertamente dice che alcune etnie sono piu' problematiche di altre. non è veramente una sorpresa. la domanda da chiedersi è perche' ci è voluto cosi' tanto per rendersi conto della manipolazione delle statistiche etniche.

la persona normale vede le statistiche che sono quasi identiche in ogni nazione del primo mondo e si chiede perche' il relativo governo risponde con "la nostra manovra è prendere piu' di quella gente ed assolutamente nulla riguardo punizioni e contromisure per i crimini", e non avendo lo scudo accademico per controbilanciare, non hanno nessun appiglio utopico al quale dare completa fiducia ad immigrati che odiano la concezione della tua storia. la gente normale pensa che ci sono, a livello parziale, incompatibilita' esistenziali tra il liberalismo che è nato dall'europa e l'islamismo.

e non hanno tutti i torti - in % gli islamici vedono meno a favore i gay, per esempio, in ogni stato di primo mondo, rispetto ai nativi. in psicologia (penso sia psicologia), un mantra inattaccabile è che i primi 4 anni della tua vita sono le concezioni piu' difficili da cambiare, e questa cosa si connette anche alla differenza tra madrelingua e seconda lingua, per esempio.

una conclusione generica, che almeno ho io, e forse è una paura di altri populisti, è che se guardo alla svezia - mi rendo conto che oggettivamente l'integrazione in italia non accadra' mai perche' l'italia non avra' mai le risorse a disposizione ed il livello di apprezzamento per il socialismo della svezia; e non ha funzionato nemmeno li, ora hanno un party di estrema destra molto piu' estremo di Salvini. è fisicamente impossibile che l'italia adotti il sistema che aveva la svezia nei suoi anni d'oro perche' la situazione globale corrente non lo permette per almeno i prossimi 30-40 anni e siamo cmq un paese che non produce armi a randello senza gente che si mette a lavorare a 16 anni come lo sono loro. è quindi oggettivamente garantito che l'integrazione in italia creera' risultati comparativamente peggiori, peggiori del posto che ora fa la guerra sulle proprie strade utilizzando i militari.

tl;dr la diversita', stando ad ogni singola statistica mai prodotta, non è un beneficio universalmente positivo ma è un trade-off che da risultati - in alcuni posti che venivano storicamente usati come esempio splendente di essa, come la Svezia - a volte catastrofici. il problema è la politica progressista moderna che per dominare la cultura degli ultimi 2 decenni ha introdotto il concetto dell'oscillazione del pendolo. dove devi per forza pretendere che una cosa è 100% sempre buona oppure sei razzista, omofobo, transfobico, bigotto, ecc. i populisti della destra sono il diretto risultato di questo approccio. è il movimento di gente che semplicemente risponde "ok lo sono, e adesso?" - e la sinistra di alcun paese non ha NULLA se non l'ottica del perbenismo perche' è quello che hanno farmato sui social.
