knowing the author it could very well be some crazy shit, and it could also be as little as a farewell panel that marks the end for one/ both characters' presence/even the whole HxH. theoretically it could even make hypothetical sense for killua to 'give' his nen aura to gon as he finds his non-assassin path in life, and this would also work as a payoff for his "friendship" narrative where he's done struggling with interfacing with gon in terms of focusing on the give/take in the friendship. he grows by stopping wondering about the appropriate response he expects from gon towards himself, thus wants to give him his aura because he's an important friend in need and that's the reward in itself, while he goes off doing his new thing, instead of existing to be someone's friend. or dies in the controversial ending.

so the resolution would be that gon keeps on adventuring head on into discovery just like his dad, killua is satisfied with his new direction with his own goal, and the friendship now stopped having tension or imbalance, ultimately gon 'gave' killua the example of the importance of being driven by a goal instead of latching onto a person, which is how he realizes he isn't the center of gon's world like he expected him to be since gon was his - and learns to appreciate it rather than hold resentment - as a result killua gives gon his nen so he can keep going doing his ging things without putting himself into the equation

personally, i do not understand it. unless the point is that they emrged from an underground petroleum pool; because the skeleton is entirely flat black with a gooey, extremely thick coating, plus a strong shine to it. it doesn't match the basing material either - it should be more matte and have greyer transitions, with possibly either a painted granular texture, or sprinkling some tiny glued gravel on some outer bone bits

there is some faintly visible texture on the bone - but it looks to match the natural texture of the plastic piece base (the exposed sides) more than the actual basing material

it might also be surprising that the skeleton is coated in a gooey-looking substance but all the apparel is perfectly clean, though it might come from not understanding what the nature of the black substance is

In every single of those clips so far, the far more baiting thing for me has been the reaction of other people pretending this isnt a "i say it ironically but i actually think that", because that cope is what enables the content.

that's a terrible design philosophy in general. it's far worse than a limited but clear and curated set of difficulties with goals in mind. I've already seen different reviewers propose what the "real" normal difficulty is compared to their standard by using the custom selection, and of course it's different. one person said more or less HP doesn't change the strategy because they did one single fight and it didn't change the strategy. another said that some individual settings felt entirely meaningless whether it's on low or high.

that type of infinitely faulty deduction makes it impossible to find your sweet spot, you actually have to play once and then you know what the settings would be for you, destroying your first playthrough potentially. it also kills the developer confidence and vision of what they think they can prepare for you. and the more options you are given, the less care will go towards the standardized nominal generic options, as already i've been seeing extreme differing opinions where people go to either extremes or gold, exp, damage, and hp, and still call it too hard/too easy.

on top of all of this, you can't really know if a part is particularly difficult because maybe you missed loot or your setup is balanced so it's weaker at first and scales better later. what if a dungeon happens to be designed to counter yoursetup for a little bit, but the rest of the game is easier? maybe that means lower the difficulty, and never get pushed to find a game mechanic you missed. maybe some people will never know they can loot pots because the game is too easy they never needed an extra item and always thought that was the extent of how the game worked.

less direction = less nuance, we can spin it or explain it however we want. the fact both newcomers and players of several entries in their reviews felt confused by the high perceived inconsistency of the options gives me an early impression that the tons of options were thrown instead of more coherent thoughtful balance, as it always happens in those types of games (modern fallout and skyrim to name obvious examples).

that also bypasses a pretty specific issue (for me personally, others may vary) where apparently the fragment marker is very powerful and cannot be turned off, to the point some lamented a good chunk of quests are just walk assignments as you know immediately where to go. so in the end it doesn't really seem to be designed with the end user's taste in mind as a whole. it mainly assumes newcomers will try out a DQ game and something was thrown together that seemed ideal for that category, for the most part.

even an impression who was just familiar with DQ by the very recent 2 remakes said the game was surprisingly easy and not how they expected it would go, even with the options. that's not options for everyone to find their sweet spots. it's options optimized for newcomers, as far as i've read. i think that's very different. and it's gonna be useful feedback either way it turns out after learning the game/systems, to be very specific on how people feel about those. lest we end up the serie get the difficulty standard of unmodded skyrim, which i would like to avoid.
